Barocook Fuel Pack Set (10-Piece)

I purchased these heat packs in October 2018 and there was no expiration date on the individual packs. Today I noticed an expiration date of January 2019 on a package containing the individual packs. After doing some research on-line I discovered that these packs are suppose to be good for three years if the packs remain sealed. Needless to say, I am extremely unhappy to find out that I received heat packs that are expiring 2 to 3 months from the date of my purchase. This is absolutely unacceptable. Also, there are around 15 packs, which came with the Barocook systems I ordered and there is no way of knowing that the expiration date is on these packs since they showed no expiration date!. Buyer beware! It might be better to purchase the heat packs directly from the Barocook.

Yes, they are a bit expensive but provide the ability to provide a convenient hot lunch (meal), almost anywhere.We have used them to heat hot dogs for the kids, reheat precooked meals, soup and more.Since water does not heat past 212F we have found we can make varied size oven containers with disposable plastic.The 80 gram size will stay hot for 30 minutes or more. I have found it works best using about 20% more water than they recommend.They are light weight, compact, fast, easy, and so much better than the old MRE heaters.

These fuel packs work as advertised with the Barocook Flameless Cookware Tumbler System that I purchased separately, however, its current price (almost $2 a pack) makes it cost prohibitive for regular use and really only practical in emergency/survival type situations.

Work very well. Liquid based foods and drinks get very hot.09/15/18 Update one year later. Use these immediately or store them out of the box and in something air/water tight. The ones I haven't use have semi activated and have swollen in size bursting out of their boxes. They still have some heat but I will handle them differently from now on.

lets be real here, MRE FRHs suck. instead i use the pouchthe MRE came in with one of these little bad boys and in a fraction of the time my Meal is actually Ready to Eat. plus the pouch that the heater comes in measures the water needed which takes out alot of the guess work.

in heavy weather passages I can warm the individual meals with no stove on and impossible positions in the galley you can keep few Barocook containers ready, add some water from your water bottle and the meal is boiling hot in 10 minutes in many cases I even cooked the meal

These little gadgets work perfectly in the BaroCook container. They stay very hot for at least an hour. I'm still new at using them but am impressed so far.

Works great. I often. work in high fire risk areas and use these to heat up MREs. They work great and I can get a hot meal in the field without risking causing a fire from a traditional gas hiking stove. And since the MREs are in pouches, there is little to no clea up. Just dump the water out and wipe down
