Good quality product
Not sure why the 3 and 4 star reviews. Item was really easy to put together, just follow the very simple and clear instructions and you will have no issues. Someone said about the quality of the plastic. It is actually blow moulded plastic, which has to be a certain grade, similar to your wheelie bins (they last in all weather's) so there will be no issues with it lasting in all weather's. As for cardboard degrading, if you chop it up small enough, it will degrade easily. Been putting cardboard (for the carbon compound) in my compost for years and it breaks down easily, so it will be exactly the same in these composers. Obviously, if you put stuff in "large" in any compost bin, it will take a while to degrade. Same in these rotating composers, so chop all your greenery, twigs, cardboard etc, as small as you can and you will have no issues creating your own compost. I have one full and one on the go and rotate them both every few days. Only thing I would have liked, is a handle on the side, to aid turning. All in all, a Great product.

Good for the money
Easy to assemble but a bit flimsy feeling. The catch to lock position is particularly prone to get itself undone but is not a big issue.Time will tell if they last but so far looking good and easy to fill and rotate.

Produces great compost
It's into the second season now, the problem with compost heaps and bins is doing the regular turning that is needed to produce good compost quickly. I've three big bins and it's back-breaking work when I need to tip them out and re mix them. This product is amazing! It's strongly built with a steel frame and turning the compost is simple and straight forward, just rotate the bin. I've had two loads out of each and they are full again and I expect another load at the start of summer and again at the end of summer.Customer service was great, there was a piece with a captive nut missing from one of the kits and I received it the next day. Easy to assemble and use.

Good compost
I bought a pair of these tumble composters, so that while I'm filling up one with fresh matter, the other one is quietly turning last month's vegetable material into a good usable compost. I find that anything bigger than a twig just doesn't break down enough, so it's worthwhile sorting the material while you're loading it. Also I find that although newspaper is fine, corrugated cardboard doesn't break down very well. Yes, it's true that the drum becomes progressively difficult to turn, but face it, compost IS heavy stuff. Overall, it's worth having a tumbler, two if you have the space.

Real compost
Commercial compost bins generally need regular rotation, else the decomposition stalls, leading to a foul smelling gunk. The reason is that the composting relies on aerobic bacteria, bacteria that need oxygen. Too dense a pile and air is excluded, and anaerobic bacteria take over.To some extent you can compensate by including loads of light "brown waste" to keep the texture open, such as shredded cardboard. Eventually, the structure will collapse, though, becoming dense, and it is time to tip everything out and turn it over, before rebuilding the heap, what is called rotation. With these, rotation is for real, and happens daily. You can initially fill with green waste and brown in about equal proportions, eg, grass and shredded card. This will rapidly reduce in volume, when it is possible to rotate the drum and regularly mix the contents and introduce air. When the contents look like compost, open the flap, invert, and use.Beware of long brown leaves, which twist around the central axle, so it is best to chop long items into smaller lengths first.Although the capacity is given as 105l, when ready, this will be more like 40l, so buy enough of these to replace any existing compost bin. However, turnaround is considerably faster. Compost accelerator will also help. And buy loads of stuff from Amazon to keep the cardboard coming!

These are ok, but expensive what what they are.
Appear cheap plastic, not sure how long they will last outside in fluctuating temperatures.

Good tumbler!
But of a faff to put together but solid when together. The hatch it on the small side when trying to empty kitchen caddy, but overall a good composer.

Value for money
Arrived in flat-pack form, took about half an hour to assemble. Very sturdy and firm turning handle operation.
