Guardian Gear Nylon Lined Fashion Dog Muzzle

These muzzles may work just fine for their intended use if you can ever get the right one.Since the description has no sizing instructions (eye line to tip of snout? front to back? width? circumference?), I used the dog breed comparisons and ended up choosing a size 2 for my Australian Cattle dogs. Of course once the items arrived, the measuring instructions are right on the package - Measure around the tip of the snout. My dogs measure almost 8" exactly, so the size 2 at 5.5" was way too small. I returned these muzzles and confidently ordered size 4, which while claiming to be for larger breeds, seemed to describe my dogs. The muzzles arrived today and are surprisingly too big, so big that they don't work as muzzles. I measured the lined end portion of the muzzle and it is right about 10". I am beginning to wonder if the manufacturer knows what an inch is.At this point I'm just going to send the muzzles back again and go to petsmart and try different sizes on the dogs. I recommend that no one take the chance and buy these items unless you have plenty of time and plenty of patience.Other thoughts: the nylon is very thin, the use of the word "lined" in the item is a joke since there is about an 1/8" wide piece of mesh around the inside near the snout, everything about this item is cheap. The size 2 costs just over $4, and that might be worth the price, but the size 4 was over $8 and even if it fit, it is too expensive for how long it will last.

I love this color and that it is not made of that rough mesh that others are made of. The 5 inch muzzle fits my little barking nipping dog's muzzle. But the trap, even pulled in to its shortest, is so much too long for her!! I got out my needle and tread and scissors and made it fit. But note that the 5.5 and 5 inch sizes are $20 where the larger sizes are under $10! I would definitely have been more philosophical about the work to get it to fit at the lower price. How in heavens name would they think that a muzzle that size would have a big head size! My dog weighs 11 pounds.

Got this for my Jack Russel Terrier; size zero. She does not like her nails trimmed and bites when I try to do it, so I got this muzzle for her. She is not fond of this, but her nails are now trimmed and I still have all my fingers thanks to this muzzle. Hoping to use it to train her further to not bite. Will update review with how that goes, but for now, five stars.

Great product - very humane - our very large Anatolian-Great Pyrennes dog loves to bark! We could hardly leave him outside more than a minute before he began to disturb the whole neighborhood. He can breathe, drink water, and softly bark with this on. We only leave it on him 10 - 15 minutes at a time, but it does not seem to bother him or irritate his muzzle. He would rather not wear it, but he doesn't object to it. It also gives me some reassurance if we are around little children that he won't scare them.

The back strap is way too short to fit around head/neck, and it is a slide buckle not the clip in kind you use for a harness or collar fastener. Did not seem secure. I have a 16lb chihuahua mix so I guess I should have ordered small instead of Xsmall. But not sure if it would have helped. My dog is muzzled only with vet's shots and nail trims so she is used to a muzzle, but she did not like this one.Return went smoothly but I had to pay for postage so I could have thrown it out for the same result $$ wise.

Size 4 fit perfectly on my 82 lb American bulldog. The short snout length is perfect for her and it keeps her from barking and trying to scare our company away. If she was truly aggressive, rather than just loud and intimidating, I would probably get a more substantial muzzle. We've had this one since 2011 and she has been able to get it off her face on a couple of occasions when it wasn't quite tight enough. She doesn't love wearing it, but she seems comfortable enough when it's on. I'm about to buy a second one because we misplaced the first. It has held up quite well, although the pink color isn't really too pretty after 3 years of bulldog drool.

I bought this muzzle for our 25lb mixed breed puppy who first displayed some fear aggression at the vets. I have been putting on daily for small amounts of time to create a comfort level. The size is perfect and it is exactly what I was looking for however you may want to consider something a little more heavy duty if you have a dog that's an extreme bite risk or a relatively big dog. It's important to remember though that dogs often react out of fear and a muzzle can't only be used then for the anxiety filled events. Acclimation of a few minutes a day and progressively building is important and MANY, MANY treats right before and after it is worn.

My dog has a snout circumference of 8 1/4 inches and according to the size guide a "5" will fit. The "size 5" I received has a 11 3/4 inch circumference. I checked the tag to see if they had sent the wrong size, but it was labeled both on the package and the muzzle as a size 5. It was only $2 so I wont bother to return it. Instead I'll cut it apart and re-sew it to fit. Unless you have a sewing machine and are willing to re-size it yourself, I would suggest you not purchase from this company because according to the reviews you have about a 1 in 3 chance of getting the right size.

For the price it's good, the snout fit my dog but the straps set at the tightest setting were too large over the head. I had to make some adjustments, simply cut the strap shorter and sewed it back to fit the head.

Did what I was supposed to in following the sizing and what I got was way too big for my 10lb dog. I put it on her adjusted it and she promptly took it off. May I suggest sizing smaller than they recommend.

Yes,it will do.However,it is simply not as pictured on Amazon or on it's package.The upper portion is only an inch or so wide,absolutely the wrong place to save on material,very misleading!

It fits my Yorkie that weighs 5 lbs. I use it when I cut her hair or nails as she gets very scared.

This is great for the dog to wear while she gets her nails clipped. She can breath easily and enjoy a treat while wearing this.
