Love this book, so well written, so realistic.
I saw where one person said the book was more of a tragedy.. well in a way it is, but life can be tragic. Characters are well developed in the book from Shelby who has been traumatized by an over zealous religious abusive father to her dealing with her mother who is in the advanced stages of alzheimers and sliding downhill rapidly. Then lets add in Casey, an emotionally abused 11 year old who literally walked from his mothers home to find his father Ty, who didn't even know his son existed. Got all that? I absolutely love this book. Yes the characters are a bit complex but its so well written that you can relate totally to each and every one of them. I think enough has been written talking about the plot so I'll just address the way the book was written. Even though it is a series, its a stand alone. There are characters mentioned that I'm sure have been fleshed out in previous books but I haven't read them to be sure. One thing I will say about this book is to challenge your mind to think of each person as an onion. Each person has layers that have to be peeled back to reveal the core of them. And at the core of each person is a heart of gold. The only thing that really really surprised me is the subsequent book is over 7 bucks to buy. Really? for Kindle? If I'm going to spend that kind of money on a book I want it to be in paperback. So other than the price of the next book, which I won't buy until its more reasonable, I could find nothing to criticize in this great story.

A very intense, and emotional story, but one well worth reading.
This book was much darker, and more emotional, than the type of book I would usually choose to read, but it was also very riveting. Once I started reading, I just couldn't put it down. This is not a fluffy fun book, but one that takes you deep into the characters and their very emotional and disturbing past lives. To say their childhood lives were tough, would be an understatement. All three of them; Wyatt, Shelby, and even Casey were raised by very abusive parents, and because of the way they grew up they tend to lead a life of self destruction. Wyatt, ot Ty as he liked to be called, through the help of his friends... was more able to get a hold on things than the other two. Casey, through the unconditional love and moral support from his father, was able to slowly rebuild his life, too. But....Shelby was a hot mess, and the last to finally let go of her past demons. This is really a dark story, but one that is well worth the read. I wasn't happy with the ending, though. This wasn't a cliffhanger, there was a a somewhat HEA kind of ending, but even so...there were a lot of loose ends that were left hanging that I would have preferred to have tied up a bit more..

Wow
I was in such a book funk when I came across this book. The first chapter I would read a paragraph and then put it down. I kept doing that, not really focusing on any of the words. After doing that through the first chapter I told myself I wasn't going too quit reading until I finished the second chapter. Well after that I could NOT put the book down. Ty and Shelbys story is unlike any other story I've ever read. Their chemistry is explosive. And the details in this story is so descriptive, I felt like I was actually a part of their lives. I felt every emotion they felt. Great story.

Really good
I really loved the characters in this book, a damaged but brave heroine, and hero who found out 5 months ago that he had an 11 year old son, and the son himself, who'd been left to the foster system when his mom went to jail, and found his dad.

My favorite book so far this summer
My favorite book so far this summer!! Casey is tough little boy who will steal your heart! And Ty? Well, he can put his shoes wherever he wants in my book. Too bad Shelbey has his heart tho... She is so broken she doesn't know what to do with it:( They are all woven into a wonderful story that wil have you laughing and crying, sometimes gasping and sighing too... All with the other characters from Bishop popping in to fill the story with so much love and heart you can deal with the bad stuff and some of it is pretty bad but that's life and that is what makes it worth living!

Realistic Romance
When looking at the title, I assumed this book was all about sex. As I read the story, I came to realize it was more about finding your way through hardships and pain and also opening yourself up to people and relationships. It wasn't the most feel good story I read, but sometimes, that's okay. I'm not sure where the title came from, but it is much more than a sexy romance. I thought the story was realistic and entertaining.

Not the best in the series
I really like this author and I'm enjoying this series very much. This book was well written and the premise was very good (there are already loads of good summaries). What I didn't enjoy was the h, she isn't very likeable and whilst we know why, it isn't easy reading. The H is great and he saves this story from disaster. I've already pre-ordered the next book and I think if you are reading this series then you probably won't want to skip this story.

Hey Puddin!
Ok, I confess that I only bought this book because Harley Quinn was reading it at the end of Suicide Squad. I was curious. It was ok and well written but I didn't connect with the characters and I'm in no hurry to read any more by this author.

Love the author!
My first Molly O'Keefe book (yes, I must have lived under a rock), and I love it! The style is a bit angsty, so if you're looking for a light hearted, escapist read, pick another one :)....this one is intense, with the multiple childhood issues the heroine deals with, and the hero's 11 year old, recently discovered boy.....and yet the way the chemistry between all three is set up, the secondary characters, and the way the story and their lives come together- is seamless. This one's an emotional journey with lots of ups and downs, and therefore, a very rewarding HEA
