Quality aftermarket part for mercury engines. Works great thus far.

It works as expected. Great for the price.
This replacement works like the original but I did find the Guage of wire was smaller. The battery voltage was 15 volts at full rpm, I may need to find a way to drop that. I never measured the voltage on the original, so it may have been the same. I don't think the battery charger worked when I bought the boat.

Does not work on pre 90’s merc.
Too many wires for my 89 Mercury 70hp since there is no voltage regulator on those boat motors until 1990.

Stater for 1978 80hp mercury outboard
I gave this 4 stars. It was correct part but the blue/white wire needs be same length as the red/white wire. Worked but barely.

Quality product. Fit my 1986 mercury 75hp four cylinder. So your self a favor and order a trigger assembly while you are at it, as the wires are most likely deterioriated.
