The Autumn Review for Keeping Her
You know what I love? I love getting updates on couples that I've fallen for. In Keeping Her, I got to see what Bliss and Garrick have been up to. They've been working and struggling to make ends meet, but they couldn't be happier. They're happy because they have each other. And now that their relationship is official and moving towards an HEA, it's time to meet the family. So, Bliss and Garrick set off to London to meet his family. Bliss couldn't be more nervous. She worries that his mother won't like her based on what she's been told about her. Once in London, things get off to a bit of a rocky start, but Garrick tries to make sure Bliss is taken care of. I love that about him. He always puts her needs first. While fretting over Bliss, Garrick starts to get nervous that he won't be able to provide for Bliss as they are living now. After feeling a bit of pressure from his family, he entertains the thought of leaving theater behind, just to take care of Bliss. But, Bliss isn't having it. Despite the fact that things are always consistent in their life, the certainty is their love for each other. She refuses to let him give up his passion for stability. She knows that no matter what, they will make their life work. This is why they're such a great couple. They know each other, support each other, and truly have a found a great love together.Overall, I really enjoyed this novella. I think it was a great addition to a series I've fallen in love with. Garrick is just as dreamy as he was when I met him it Losing It, if not more! If you haven't read this series yet, go grab them now!Quotes:~Our lips brushed just barely when he said, "You make me happy." I smiled my approval, and he added, "Marry me?"My heart flip-flopped, like my unsuccessful pancakes from this morning were supposed to."You've already asked me that, and I already said yes.""I know. It's unfair that I only get to ask you that once, though."Melting. So much melting.-Loc 293~"How is it that you know me even better than I know myself?""Because I love you."My heart sprinted, and the force of each beat drew me closer to her. Ever time she said those words...every time it felt like the first time. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled until I had her feet dangling off the floor. I kissed the corner of her jaw and returned the words.-Loc 1612

Keeping Her....from losing it.
I really liked Keeping Her mostly because it was great to see where Bliss and Garrett's relationship went after Losing It ended. I thought the premise of meeting his folks in London was an engaging way of adding to the story and keep it fresh. I particularly liked the alternating POV. Getting Garrett's perspective on their relationship was a treat, especially after the epilogue in Losing It. His friends were amusing with their brotherly harassment but I loved his mother most. She was a handful but very entertaining. I hope that their characters are further explored in later books though I realize Bliss and Garrett won't be the MCs anymore. As I said, I really liked the book but it wasn't perfect. A couple things bothered me enough to lose a star. First, their relationship could sometimes be a little too new-relationship-lovey and insecure for having been together for over a year already. I realize they were on vacation, hadn't had a lot of time alone with their busy work schedules, were experiencing a few relationship first and were semi-newly engaged but even with all of that, it was occasionally over the top. Second,(and this is a very big hint at a SPOILER so don't read the next paragraph if you don't want it)I feel strongly that any woman with sense who is at a certain point in her life (and particularly a self-proclaimed control freak) would not be so absent-minded and cavalier about certain things regardless of her busy schedule and inexperience with said things...especially for a whole freaking month. That was a serious eye-roll moment for me.SPOILER moment over. Finally, the ending was pretty abrupt. However, it was a novella and their stories will very likely be further explored in the next books so....In any case, it was a great Novella and I'm looking forward to reading Faking It and Finding It.

Great follow-up novella!
"Keeping Her" is the follow-up novella of Losing It - one of my favorite books ever. I was so thrilled to know more about Bliss & Garrick's love story. I really, really loved these characters that's why I didn't think twice of buying this book. This book continues the love story of my favorite gorgeous British teacher - Garrick and my favorite heroine - Bliss. This time, they went to London to meet Garrick's parents. Of course Bliss was very terrified of meeting them especially Garrick's Mom, upon hearing some negative things about her. Then when they finally reached Garrick's house, she discovered something huge about his life. A secret that caught her off-guard but well, knowing she's a good actress, she just played along with it and she did amazing.I loved this story, from the way it was narrated through alternating POVs between Bliss & Garrick. I was happy to to know Garrick's thoughts and feelings about Bliss. Danggit! His love for Bliss radiates throughout the story. Their love for each other is very overwhelming. Oh & Garrick's best buddies - Rowland & Graham? Loved these two, their witty banters towards each other brought comedic relief in the story.Loved it though I wished it's much longer. I love to hear that our dear author would continue Garrick & Bliss' story (wish, wish, wish!). The ending felt rushed for me but I know it's a novella so pretty sure it's shorter but I'm not complaining. Still glad that they're still together and working their very best to have their HEA. I would like to read more about their wedding though. That would really be awesome.I enjoyed reading it. Real page-turner from start to finish.

Sorry but really worryingly factually bad...
Okay this is escapism, but still quite a few medical and other facts wrong that really are disastrous for YA audience.Firstly the heroine had a positive then negative pregnancy test. This means that she has had an early miscarriage not was never pregnant. Secondly she forgot to get her prescription. How about an implant or coil and joint responsibility for contraception for a couple who supposedly love each other? How about healthcare for their baby one day?Or is the plan waiting for the inheritance from his parents? Just aagh!!!

A little bit un-necessary... but still good
If you haven't read Losing It (Garrick & Bliss book 1) there is absolutely no point in reading this...So this book continues on from Losing It, Garrick and Bliss are engaged and are headed to London for Bliss to meet Garrick's family. Just like Losing It, Bliss is clumsy, dippy and generally really quite amusing and Garrick is as tolerant and sweet as ever. They really are an adorable couple. While I enjoyed reading a bit more about Garrick and Bliss, and it really did make me laugh, a part of me once I'd finished was like "what was the point of this?" Especially when I'm reading away and my Kindle says 74% and suddenly Keeping Her is finished and the rest of the "book" is an excerpt from the next release Finding it (which is about Bliss' friend Kelsey). Just a little bit annoying.I'd recommend you read this if you are a Garrick & Bliss fan and you need something to do for a couple of hours. Other than that you could safely skip it and not really be missing out on anything.

A great catch up!
a fabulous new novella from this great New Adult author! This is a brilliant novella because we get to have a quick catch up with Bliss and Garrick from Losing It-wonderful! Bliss and Garrick are headed to London to meet Garrick's parents and so you know trouble is going to ensue. It was grata to catch up with these characters and find out what they are doing now they have both left the college where they met. We learn that Garrick isn't quite sure about his career change, i thought this was brilliantly realistic and so really enjoyed that part of the writing. The characters haven't changed a bit, apart from being further on in their lives and relationships, Bliss is still as insecure as ever and Garrick is still so lovely and supportive of her. When Bliss goes to London with him, she becomes particularly anxious about meeting his family, and it is lovely the way he supports her. Something else also happens in London which is incredibly exciting, but I'll leave you to find out about that one yourself! We get to meet some of Garrick's friends as well as his family and they are written as typically British Lads, I thought this was great. I did find myself wanting to tell Bliss to pull herself together at points, but again I found her incredibly real, we often can't see how good we've got it in a relationship because we are too close to realise! This is a must for any fans of Cora Carmack, and a great New Adult Novella in its own rights. I wouldn't recommend reading this if you haven't read Losing It but both a fabulous to grab your copies now!

Keep This!
Before I start this review, can I just admit something right off the bat? I can? Good. I LOVE Cora Carmack. I think she is quite easily the best new author to have come out of the whole New Adult genre. Her books are awesome, her characters are out of this world amazing (seriously, I want to be ALL of them, but mostly I want to be Max), and I've loved everything she's released so far. Losing It, Faking It, and now Keeping Her, a novella which catches us up with Bliss and Garrick (YAY!) and let me tell you, it is so good to be back with Bliss and Garrick!Like I said, Keeping Her is a novella, catching up with Bliss and Garrick almost a year after Losing It, and it sees them travelling to London to meet Garrick's parents, something Bliss is ridiculously nervous about because, y'know, she doesn't feel like she's good enough for him (there is no one better for Garrick than Bliss, BELIEVE ME) and the trip gets off to an auspicious start when Bliss accidentally breaks a vase, but one simple question from Garrick's mother sends Bliss into a tailspin, she begins to wonder if she and Garrick are as ready for marriage and all of the commitment as she thought...I really enjoyed Keeping Her, it was a quick and easy read, that took me just under an hour to complete. It was so good to be back with Bliss and Garrick again - so good, that I do wish it had been a little bit longer, if I'm being totally honest. I liked seeing London through Bliss's eyes and learning a little bit more of what Garrick had been like before Texas, before Bliss, before America and it was a really sweet read. I do wonder if we might get a full-length book about Bliss and Garrick again, I think if Carmack really wanted to do that, it would be totally ace and the fans would devour it, because it seems like with Bliss and Garrick there are always so many wonderful stories to explore and I for one would love a book about their wedding. Keeping Her was just wonderful, and I can't wait for Carmack's next book Finding It, which is Kelsey's book (Bliss's best friend!).

Losing It book 1.5
I absolutely loved Losing It when I read it earlier this year, I have a huge crush on Garrick and Bliss is the kind of heroine who reminded me of myself as a teenager. As much as I enjoyed Cade and Max's story in Faking It I was excited to revisit my favourite couple in this novella.Keeping Her shows how Bliss had Garrick are getting on several months after the ending of their book, there is no point in picking up this story if you haven't read Losing It yet but fans will enjoy getting their extra Garrick fix! The couple are living together and more in love than ever but they are going to face new challenges when Garrick takes Bliss to London to meet his family. It was great to get to spend more time with them both and see how they cope with the pressures of real life but I have to admit I was a little disappointed with how short it was. I could happily have read another full length novel with these two.One thing I will say is that you could tell the British characters were written by an American. I don't remember noticing this too much in Losing It but then Garrick is a Brit living in the US so I probably would have forgiven any errors in his way of talking as something he'd picked up living abroad. It was much more noticeable when the setting for the story is London and it's his English friends who are talking like Americans. I know this isn't a major issue but it did bug me a little. What I enjoyed most was the fact that the story is written from dual POVs, I loved the chance to get inside Garrick's head and hear his thoughts about Bliss. Overall I thought this was a nice little addition to the series, it isn't essential reading but if you're a big fan of this couple then I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
