most stock internal combustion engines can handle extra power. stock blocks can usually handle and excessively higher amount than other components like the connecting rods. for my engine it makes 200 chp stock and the block can handle well over double that, BUT the connecting rods can only handle 275 HP of torque shock before they will be prone to failure

the rods will handle it all day. I've had 2 g8 gt's just make sure you pull a cpl degrees and check ur fuel enrichment. go get a wideband 02 sensor if u plan on running it long term
