Byers' Choice Dogs Christmas Advent Calendar #AC22 (New 2019)

I was honestly nervous about how it was going to look and what the overall quality was going to be (based on some of the reviews) but this is really well made. The wood feels nice and thick and the painting looks really good. It is also heavier than you might thing, which also indicates to me that it is sturdy and made well rather than being light and flimsy.Only two small issues which are not anything major :1 - there is a few paint spots on one of the dogs heads, so it looks like something dripped on it. Its minor, so its not a big deal.2 - some of the doors have a bigger gap between the door and the frame (front part where it meets up). I'm guessing this is based on the amount of space needed for the doors to open, but I'm ocd so its something I noticed.Overall these two things are super minimal and we are using it for our dogs for 24 days a year, not worth exchanging or returning. I really like it though and I know it will be part of our family traditions for years to come.

This advent calendar is so well made. It's sturdy and brightly colored. Absolutely adore this.

Full disclosure, I’m a Christmas fanantic and a little obsessed with my dogs. My husband bought me this advent calendar as a birthday gift. I intend to use it for my dogs as a countdown to Santa Paws advent. Yes, I’m serious. No judgment please;)The calendar is solidly built. It seems like solid wood but it’s more like compressed composite material. Think lighter weight MDF. The design is perfect. Sharp images, smoothly opening doors, very large openings for plenty of candy (or dog treats) and a high quality box to store it in. I absolutely love it. I also have a Byers advent calendar for my children so I was confident this one would be quality. I was not disappointed.

My granddaughters love this thing. A little treat for them every day till Christmas. I bought a small Christmas treat and put two small ornaments along with candy in every door so they can decorate their own tree.

I'm torn about this product. It "could" have been exactly what I was looking for. But when I first opened the package, I was dismayed to discover that one of the doors was missing (door 23). I did a search of the packaging, and eventually found that the door had actually been pushed inside it's cubby-hole. I examined the door and discovered that one of the mounting pin brackets had fallen off. I was lucky to find the tiny bracket (it was also inside the cubby hole) but I can't for the life of me figure out a way to put the pin and door back on securely. The door just keeps falling through into the cubby. And judging by the tiny little hardware, it won't be the last door to break. So my gift to my wife now has a missing door. I'd expect that from a $20 product -- not one that costs $180. It also took 17 days from order to arrival -- so there's no chance of getting a replacement anywhere near Christmas.
