Impressed with the my first attempt
I'm an avid DIY guy. Over the past 2 years, I've justified the expense of body shop tools in order to paint 3 vehicles and whatever other "random" projects I come across. I started with the inexpensive Harbor Freight HVLP guns ($50 gun set) and was content with the results since I was able to spray with minimal orange peel and all that was needed was a little color sanding/buffing for that mirror finish. Some time passed and I was a little more comfortable and confident with my painting skills so I decided to invest in another gun in order to dedicate my Harbor Freight gun to primer. Here comes the DeVilbiss GFG670. I read the few reviews on Amazon and multiple forums and decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. Here's a breakdown of my 1st time shooting. The Gun arrived with paint cup, nozzles (1.2, 1.3, 1.4), gun holder, and air pressure regulator. All you "need" to purchase is a standard coupler (Female threads since the gun has male threads). I also purchased Harbor Freight's 5 pack HVLP disposable cups since they fit well and their inline dryer (little disposable ones for < $5 each).I needed to shoot a fender due to some damage that resulted from a failed wheel bearing (wheel broke off, and dented the fender). After molding the fender back into a halfway decent shape, it was ready for paint. I shot both Base and Clear with this gun (Dupont's Nason line). The results were impressive and better than when I was using My Harbor Freight gun with a 1.4mm nozzle. I have less orange peel than most new factory paint jobs! I'm certain that with a few more hours of practice, I'll be able to shoot clear like glass! To add to the shooting experience, the cleanup was easy. The gun parts are machined well and cleans up with ease using laquer thinner in a squeeze bottle, a tooth brush, and blue shop rags. Within 2 minutes, the gun looked like new and was ready to be put back in the box until the next time it's needed. For those interested, I setup the gun with the 1.3mm nozzle, air pressure set @ 30psi, material knob turned 2 1/2 turns out and the fan adjusted to shoot 12" wide at 12" away. Perfect pattern within 2 test shots!I'm looking forward to my next paint next project!

Great qualitty
I used to use spray guns for finishing whole bunch of diferrent millwork. Those were Husky HVLP which goes around $100 for the kit which includes 2 of them. The purpose of my Devilbiss HVLP gun wasn't to spray furniture but that's where I've first tryed this gun. I was pleasantly impressed with qualitty and the way it sprays. I've got 27 gallons Craftsman Pro Series and compressor seemed to keep up needed preasure. My next task is to repaint my 07 Camry with HOK paint and my Devilbiss. It should come out realy nice.Gun performs great! I recomend this gun! The only bad thing about it that there were just the gun in a box without even wrench to take it apart and cleaning kit. That sucks. Have to buy it separeted.

Great value
This gun sells for about $250 more locally than I paid for it. I am not a professional painter and bought this to shoot a few coats of clear on my bass boat project. This gun layes down clear very well. Even a novice painter can get great results with this gun. This was a great value and I am glad I purchased this caliber of gun.

not bad
Its really good for clear coat and metallic paints as well as enamel auto paints, the only things that bothered me was the cheap packing that always leaks after a year,if youre using it daily. Also the weight and grip compared to Sata or Iawata is still lacking..If your spraying dai!y your hand gets tired faster because of the grip and weight.I had a gti over ten years ago that I learned how to paint with and it seems that devillbiss has become better known for cheap guns than quality...In the 90's when choosing a gun devillbiss was more known for a quality gun and up thier with sata and other big hitters but if the gun is still the same and no update to the gun other than puting a restrictor in the plus, what Im trying to say is The gun is the same as the one I used many years ago and although it does the job at hand with great results they need to get back in the game and stop all the cheap crap if they want to remain being used by pros..For those of you that say it spays the same a 7-800$ sata and iawattas are nuts!! Go hold the actual gun in hand and feel how the gun just fits in your grip nicely and the weight is light and not top heavy even with a full cup of paint the satas feel balanced in your hand still....If you arent a pro and use it dailly I recomend the gun for all.If you are a pro, then save a few more bucks and get the iawatta for base and the sata for clear and youmwill happy gor many years.....

Great gun for both base/clear!
I was very skeptical before buying this gun and I'm glad I made this small yet very great investment! I use it as my daily shooter for any type of car. I even use it on newer model cars with zero issues... make sure every thing is tight, clean and then watch this gun work its magic. I have also shot Sata 3000 and the quality isn't very different... only difference is that this gun is a little heavier than the sata! I will be buying another as my stand alone clear gun! Shoots base very smooth zero orange peel and shoots clear like glass!!! I even use the 1.2 tip for spot jobs with not issues! Great gun for those on a budget or not!

Cannot remove the 1.3 mm nozzle, despite my efforts!
As for the gun, it lays down a very nice base coat. However, in cleaning it, could not unscrew the 1.3 mm nozzle despite my efforts. I own several Binks Model 7s and never had this issue. So cleaned it the best I could. Luckily, the paint I'm using requires a 1.3 mm nozzle.Since the gun is useless for the other nozzle sizes, giving it a 1 star rating. Would love to meet the moron who thought he had to torque this down so tight that no one can get it loosened. Very disappointed, especially for the amount of money paid. Very disappointed in Devilbiss. So much for quality control.
