SHARPAL100DR Compatible Drum Toner

Maybe I'm being overly picky, but when you use a name like "Sharp AL-100DR - Compatible Sharp AL-100DR Drum" don't you expect to get a drum made by Sharp? I know that "compatible" is usually the code word for "cheap knock off", but when you use the OEM manufacturer's name TWICE in your product title that's more than a bit deceptive.As far as the drum itself, it seems to be working okay so far. I've found that the "compatible" versions don't last as long as the OEM drum, but I'm not sure if this drum is from the same manufacturer of other knock offs I've used.

I purchased this new drum for my Sharp AL1631 copier that gets light usage, less than 30 copies per week. It worked fine for a week then started leaving blank areas on copes down the center of the page. In addition to that, the end of the unit fell off and two gears fell out. It took me a while to figure out how to reinstall the gears to make the drum work, but the blank spots continued. I thought that it may be the new toner cartridge that I had installed at the same time, but even after purchasing a second new toner cartridge, the blank spots are still there. The first 2 or 3 copies are fine, then the blank gets wider and wider. I finally decided to just buy a new copier and stop spending money on new parts and supplies. Of course, this was what I was trying to avoid in the first place.

Like a few of the other reviewers I expected this to be a Sharp replacement part. It was not. In fact it looks like it is a used part.It did fit and it does work, but my machines drum replacement light is still on. In life you do get what you pay for so I expect I will have to go and find a genuine drum from Sharp.

The drum arrived on time, installed easily, and appears to be 100% compatible with the Sharp copier. While we have only made a few copies since I installed it, the copies are sharp. It will be many months before I will know if it has anywhere near the longevity of the original.

This product worked well. It was a bit stiff & glitchy to begin with and we had to make some minor adjustments to get the copier to recognize it, but at that price...it was well worth that minor inconvience.

Might not work as long as the original but cost a lot less so even 2 of these are cheaper than 1 from Sharp. I have had good luckwith product.

We own a Sharp AL-1631. This is the 4th drum we've bought. It installed without a hitch and works GREAT! And the price was a bargain. These used to cost 4-5 times as much when our machine was new. Definitely recommend and will buy again!

Bought for replacement in my Sharp AL-1661CS all-in-one machine, but it was not fully compatible with the machine. Would not communicate and turn off the annoying warning light & message on the machine itself, and in the Sharp software, there was no way to turn off the annoying pop up dialog box telling me to change my cartridge every time I used it, so I sent it back.
