UE Mini Boom Wireless Bluetooth Speaker - Black (Renewed)

This product is great as a portable outdoor speaker that I connect to my phone and play Amazon Music through. In the summer we like to sit on the patio and have a few drinks with friends. I can put this speaker between us or off to the side, control the volume from my phone and play whatever tunes I want through its bluetooth connection. The bluetooth range is very good and in a direct line is farther than you would want it to be to actually hear anything coming from the speaker. Nice purchase for the money.

Like others have written here... the speaker stopped taking charge but in my case it took a lot longer. Bought this in May/2016 and it broke down in Sept/2016 at almost 6mo in use. It was pretty much heavy use with using it everyday, morning and evening, to stream video (Netflix and vids of my DLNA) with my tablet.The speaker was very easy to set up with the phone, just activate NFC and tap it on the top of the speaker and done. Just wished it lasted longer... I'm going to try to repair it as there's various vids on how to and I used to service electronics many years ago.I'll update this once I have the fix for mine as it might help others.

Let's face it, this is not a wall of JBL speakers. Good Clean sound from the UE mini Boom. Very good for talk radio or audio books. Very convenient to just move from room to room while moving about the house. The UE mini Boom arrived in good shape together with other items ordered from Amazon.Much of the Bubble-wrap burst, during shipping, so the items moved around in the big box. However, nothing was damaged.Overall: The UE Mini Boom has good design,, convenient size, and pretty nice sound. Not great for low bass (not my choice for rap). but very smooth and pleasant sounding. Good for background music, and very good, as said above, for audio books.Since it had automatic shut off after a few minutes of "no signal", it works well for listening to the radio or music while going to sleep.If it sounded as good as my "wall" of speakers on my main audio system, It would get 5 stars. Thus only 4 stars.

Extremely Disappointed. Not at the Mini boom design or capabilities of this little player but at the Certified Refurbished. I have owned a few Mini Booms and I absolutely love them. Solid reliable little players,that have a great sound and loudness. I bought the FIRST one new and used it so frequently that after a few years we thought we would just replace it with two REFURBISHED ones so that we can link all of them together. Well...we got what we paid for. Battery lasts an hour tops on the refurbished ones and we have only had them for a few months, as well as they randomly shut of and you have to reboot it. The one we bought years ago is now our go to player because the new ones blow. The worst part is I can't return them. So upset at myself for buying two REFURBISHED players, should have just bought a new one or upgraded to the Boom.Lesson Learned. Don't make my mistake

I purchased a refurbished ue mini boom.I couldn't have told it from new.The sound quality and battery life is amazing from a speaker this size.I have half a dozen blue tooth speakers and this is easily the best combination of portable, sound quality and loudness for the price I paid.I use a Bose Sound link 3 every day at work and I won't tell you this could replace that one for volume and sound quality.But for the price and size it compares favorably for those times when you want something smaller and much cheaper at over $250 LESS.I'd say I use it mostly with audio books and for that it's perfect.

The good:Great audio quality and a surprising amount of volume for its size - I was very surprised by how loud this thing can get. Looks great, very discreet in black, and it's super portable.The bad:Bluetooth range leaves a lot to be desired. I'm disappointed that with a claimed 50-foot range, the audio cuts out before I make it up or down one flight of stairs in my small town-home. I tried this with from both my laptop and phone (alienware m14x and HTC One M9) and the range limitations are similar for both devices. Even going roughly 30ft away through a window, the audio starts clipping. Last thing - I wish the UE app allowed more fine tuning of bass and treble or at least included more than just 3 presets for Out Loud, Voice, and Intimate.

I've used this speaker for a couple of months and it is well worth the money. The batter has excellent life and the sound is very powerful. You'll be surprised by how much this small speaker can fill a room. It works well outdoors too. Feels very well made and bluetooth has a decent range, but is occasionally spotty. It also had a 3.5mm input. The bluetooth is secure too, you have to physically press the bluetooth button to pair, so nobody can "highjack" your speaker.This speaker is so good that i'm going to buy another one.
