Porter Cable PCC601 PCC601B 1/2" 20V MAX Lithium Ion Drill Driver (Tool Only)

I go through a lot of drills in my shop for various reasons, so I have been buying this same bare tool (various models that have evolved, but generally the same 20V system) for years now because it is the only brand I have had consistent luck with.Comes as advertised, as a bare tool, which was nicely packaged and new, and worked like a charm. Been using it for months now and still working perfectly, as expected. With a shop like mine that has tons of batteries already, being able to just grab the bare tool at such a great price is terrific.

The drill is my daily driver at work.It doubles for home use.At first I bought the hammer drill version. It lasted about three years with very heavy use. It’s getting a little tired so I replaced it with this. I’ve been very pleased with Porter cable 20 V line of tools. Its a cost effective way to get into having some really nice cordless tools.This drill can handle heavy drilling and reaming. Just remember the duty cycle. Let it cool down when it gets hot.

Update: I reached out to the seller with my issue and I have to say they get 4.5 stars from me. The particular drill I received had a gear issue, and the seller offered me an equitable settlement that I thought was fair. With that, I am changing my review from two stars to four stars. Text below is my original review.Amazon, you need to have time to use a product to be able to determine whether it has flaws. This was delivered to me on May 12 while I was out of town. I was first able to use it on May 29. Today is June 29 and I am looking into the return window on this to find it has closed on June 16. That is a 35 day return window for a defective product. In regards to electronic tools, this is totally unacceptable and I will no longer be able to purchase tools and like items from Amazon as a result. As for the product, after using it just a day or two, I noticed some slippage in the gears while driving screws into my new deck. After using during the three following weekends the problem is getting worse and more frequent and often stops when screws are halfway in. Even with the torque lock on completely. The product is defective. It just took a few weeks of use for it to become clearly apparent. The seller was great and the delivery was timely. No problems there I have opened a chat with the seller in regards to warranty and I will update this review with whatever the result of that is.

While all cordless tools are probably made on the same assembly line, Porter Cable tools, to me, seem to hold up much better. Battery life is excellent and tool longevity is awesome. Maybe the last you'll ever need. Highly recommend

I bought this tool only for work, to add on to an existing lineup of tools using the 20v max batteries. This drill works great, the only minor issue I had was the led light doesn't shine directly where I was looking to unscrew but below it a bit. Also there isn't a battery level indicator on this model. Still this drill is an excellent value and should last many years.

The product came in after the second time of ordering it. Which I was promptly refunded my money for the first one that did not arrive. I love my new drill it is lighter than the last one I had has more power and is still durable as the old faithful I had. The only draw back to this one and my last one is that it does not have the magnets or the battery sensor.
