Nesti Dante Nesti dante dei colli fiorentini triple milled vegetal soap - sweet violet, 8.8oz, 8.8 Ounce

I had purchased this soap before, in a specialty store in California. Because it was so fragrant, I just put it on display, (In the wrapper) in my bath, and the bath always smelled wonderful. I did eventually use the soap, and it is a wonderful natural soap which really cleans well, but does dry the skin out a little bit more than say a bar of "Dove" soap. I wanted another bar of this soap for my bathroom, and got this off of Amazon. Yes, it is the same soap, but the fragrance is not as strong, which leads me to believe that this could have been on the shelf for a while. I do not believe that this will mar it's cleaning abilities, but just not quite as fragrant. Whatever your use for this soap, it is wonderful and this large bar lasts a long time in the bath or shower. If you happen to get a "fresh" bar to put on display, it will make your bath smell wonderful for years if that is desired. Seriously.

Nesti Dante has some of the most fragrant soaps on amazon. The scents are ......very strong and powdery. If you have an allergy to strong florals then try another brand . These florals are a favorite and I have purchased Peony,Lavender,Violet so far..enjoy

I had high hopes for this soap but was slightly disappointed. The packaging is beautiful and it’s a hefty bar that lasts and lasts, but the scent was a big let down. Italy is the land of Parma violets, so I thought the scent would be spectacular. Alas, it is not. The scent is pleasant, and there’s a light violet note to it, but there’s a bouquet of other floral scents in it, too, and that’s not what I wanted. If you are a violet scent purist like me, don’t buy this.

It's a gift so I haven't opened the box but it doesn't smell particularly good - certainly not the violet smell I was expecting.

Soap quality was superb as all the other Nesti Dante soap, but the scent was not my cup of tea.

Okay, this is very nice soap. Has a crisp, almost spicy fragrance. But it's not violet!Maybe the design of pansies pictured on the wrapper should tip us off, although this soap's scent does not remotely resemble Claus Porto's Wild Pansy soap.But, violet this soap is not. A pleasant item to have in the bathtub/shower, and anyone selling as well as buying would think that's assuredly a violet aroma since it's what the wrapper's name proclaims. Other soap manufactuers do indeed have their own version of violet -- whether it's Violette de Toulouse, Claus Porto Foxtrot, or the now defunct and much missed Puhl/Verly brand of Wild Violet. All differ slightly in essence, but they are all recognizably violet.This soap's frangrance isn't.

I got this soap because my great neice is named Violet.
