Distil Union Magnetic Seafarer Sunglasses - Lightweight, Flexible and Polarized

I LOVE these sunglasses. I actually backed the Kickstarter campaign and got two pairs. I wanted more and was stoked to find them here at a great price! I’m one of those people who is rough on my sunglasses, so I usually buy cheap ones. I’m afraid of getting fancy ones because even though people tell me I would treat them better, I’m not sure I would. ADHD, FTW! Haha! Anyway, these are perfect for me. They are excellent quality, super durable, and just easy to take care of. The case they come with is awesome. Not bulky, and just really convenient with the magnet closure - plus it looks cool too. But even if I don’t put them in my case and just throw them in my purse, they are still totally fine! That’s huge for me. Plus to be able to hang them on my shirt or wherever with the mag-lock part is genius. Honestly, I would buy more pairs - as soon as they come up with some more styles! And these are super stylish, so I know anything else they make will be too. I’m stoked to have been a part of it from the beginning!

I was a bit concerned at how light these were but I have been nothing but satisfied. I work as a first responder and I just cant believe I have lived my life without these glasses until now. I have lost so many sunglasses in the field when in the moment and performing my duties. The magnet keep these on me no questions asked. Highly recommend.

I like to keep my everyday carry bag small, so I was looking for a pair of cheap sunglasses that I wouldn't worry about breaking should I toss them into my bag without a bulky hard case. That's when I stumbled across these, and even though they're a bit pricier than I would have otherwise wanted to pay for a pair of cheap gas station sunglasses, I'm happy to pay the price once for the Distsil Union ones instead of presumably having to replace those periodically.The glasses come with a collapsible hard case that's actually pretty cool, alongside a microfiber pouch that is really all I need given these sunglasses seem to live up to their billing as being near indestructible. I confidently put them in there, then feel no hesitation about sticking them in the quick access pocket of any of the many bags I rotate between. They've been tossed into car trunks, crammed into overhead bins, layered under other bags and more, and don't have a scratch on them. The are also just as tight as they were the first time I put them on, without any wobbles caused by being crushed or torqued in my bag when I'm not wearing them.

These are an x-mas gift I have yet to give, but these are so cool, of course I had to pop the case open and play with them. All of these observations are from that, really first impressions, so I can't comment on long term durability. I got them for my brother, who works in landscaping, so these glasses will get a workout. If he finds any durability issues, I'll update this review.First of, the origami case is pretty cool. It's reasonbaly rigid and seems sufficient to protect the glasses in a bag, but once you get the knack of it, they fold down fairly flat, and stay that way thanks to the magnet closure.Now to the sunglasses themselves - if you are interested in these, then you likely have seen the youtube video of the guy wacking on the glasses with a hammer. If you haven't, check it out. Anyway, having seen that video, you know the first thing I wanted to do after pulling them out of the case is to twist and torque these frames to see if they really are that durable. They stood up to any abuse that would be reasonable equivalent to sitting on them, dropping them, or maybe even stepping on them. I feel like I've been typing this a lot in this review, but very cool.The magnets are strong, and they aren't going anywhere when you clip them on to the neck of your shirt. I'd feel a little less confident is clipping them onto a bag while out and about. Using the magnets to stick them onto a fridge or other metal surface is very doable, and, yup, all that is pretty cool.And speaking of cool, I took these into work to show off to co-workers, twisting and bending them, clipping them on my shirt and shaking the hell out if it to see if they'd come off, and then sticking them on anything magnetic. To a person, everyone said the sunglasses were very cool.

The Frame is great - seems very durable, is comfortable and once you get used to magnets on your shades, you will want them on all shades and glasses.However, the lenses are not great. When I move my head horizontally I get a noticeable kink in my view. I also notice more reflections compared to my other shades (polarized and non-polarized).

Like most people, I like to keep my glasses that I buy. I was buying one after another, because they kept falling off and scratching or falling off completely and in turn becoming lost. When I got one of these, I was astounded by the simple concept and incredible grip, from the magnet and the texture of the frames. They are unbeatable for looks, comfort, style and weight as well. I find myself using only these because they just seem right for every occasion that I don't want my glasses going anywhere. Best pair I have owned and kept for longer than a few months.

These sunglasses are exactly what I've been waiting for. It's hard to find a better pair of POLARIZED sunglasses for a better price. There are a lot of innovative features built into these frames that make them a great deal. There is a magnet built into the arms so it stays clipped to your shirt solving one of the more annoying problems I've had with my sunglasses (them falling off every time I bend over to tie my shoes). Also, the frames are very flexible. So if you sit on them by accident, no problem! Overall I can highly recommend these frames. I'm looking forward to Distil Union coming out with new styles in the future!
