Buy this item! I got one of those cardboard scratching pads for my cat and the flakes of cardboard were making an absolute mess of my living room floor. When the first pad I got was done, I came on here to buy another and found this item. It has like five pads in it and this thick, sturdy cardboard box. No assembly required. I just took all but one of the scratching pads out and tossed it on the floor for Hamilton. He was instantly in love. Jumped right in it and started scratching away. He seems to really be having fun with it, and my floor is CLEAN again! Exactly the functionality I needed. Something to entertain the cat and keep the cardboard flakes contained. When he scratches one side of the pad up completely, I take it out, empty the scraps out of the box and put the pad back in with the other side up so we get two uses out of each of the scratch pads that came in it. Sometimes I'll sprinkle some catnip in his box for an extra treat. He uses it as both a scratching pad and a hangout box. This is hands down the best cat toy I ever bought. I love this thing almost as much as the cat does.

The cardboard box has a tad bit of a waxy covering...in other words it's just a tad bit nicer and sturdier than a regular cardboard box. My cats took to it right away. I put it near my couch as I'm trying to prevent cat scratching of the sofa. Seems to truly help with that. I use only 1 or 2 pads in the box at a time to give them room to lay in it if they like and sometimes they do. With this many included pads, this should last for a really long time.

This is my one cats favorite sleeping place. Everyday Duke is found sleeping in it several times a day. He sleeps in it every night. He claims it for himself and no one else can have it. Lasts a long time . has had it a couple of years. I bought another one to have on hand just in case his gets torn .

My cats love these scratchers. It keeps a lot of the cardboard pieces that are made when the cat scratchers it inside the box. My big boy is 14.5 lbs, but can still use it. I ended up with two because they fight over it. It's helped. Just flip it over once it's been pretty used up. They last awhile.

My cats love these esp since they come in a box. And since it is scratchable on both sides of each piece, sothat is a benefit. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the cost. Just seems pricey to me, but this is the third box I have purchased and until I can find a better price deal I will probably order them once more.

I buy these every year! My cat loves them. She also loves the sturdy cardboard box they come in, because it's the perfect size for her to roll around in and get belly rubs.

Fantastic product, lasts a long time with all the double-sided inserts. My only complaint is that it is overpackaged—each box comes in a cardboard box with wrapping underneath. Only one is necessary.
