Great value for the pirce
For me it was all about size, functionality, and asthetically pleasing (you likely don't see that written into a review often). I was tired of having a collection of techology, with its associated collection of cables and cords, sitting in a corner and unable to easily move it without significant effort. Enter the v7 6U cabinet with wheels and with reasonable good looks. All of the networking equipment is now housed in a single unit that can easily be moved if needed.Several of the benefits of the V7 6U cabinet:a) it comes with casters that lets you easily move it from location to location. The casters also lift if off the floor and allow for better airflow.b) 3 of the 4 sides have full access via doors that swing open. Great for placing equipment, cord management, and making changesc) the construction of the metal cabinet is decent. Could it be made with heavier gauge metal? Of course but the current construction is more than adequate and can carry a reasonable weight.d) mounting rails in all four corners and mounting hardware for shelves comes standarde) it comes with mounting holes for a fan if necessaryf) it has both a top and bottom plate that can be removed for cable managementg) it has reasonable good looks (yep I am assigning an asthetic value to a 6U cabinet).CONSa) it could be made with heavier gauge metal but its adequateb) build quality seems acceptable but I can visiualize where there might be areas of concern. 3 of the 4 sides have doors to allow easy access and they need to fit well together to operate smoothly.c) the V7 6U is not necessarily cheap.d) packaging was adequate not great. Fortunately mine came undamaged but the boxing and packaging was fairly basic.e) once it is mounted on wheels (which work well btw) there is a slight chance of the cabinet tipping forward when moved. This should not be a show stopper. If you are adding equipment to the cabinet and positioning the equipment foward to allow easy access to the cable management opening on the bottom it can happen. Just be aware.

Plenty to like about this rack (6U vented door)
The product is well constructed, well ventilated and you'll get more than you paid for. So first off I bought the 6U vented door version of this rack, interestingly while the door is 6U tall, or in my case wide, it actually has 8U standards in it. You can literally cram 8U of stuff in this 6U rack without even trying. While it easily merits a 5 star rating, it isn't without its, well for me anyway, gripes. First off it's listed as a wall mount, but comes with casters, seems like a bonus, however there is some pretty substantial substructure tack welded to the bottom for those casters, which makes it not all that clean looking from below, like if you actually mount it up on the wall. It also makes it specifically oriented a certain way, for me I intended to use it vertically (sideways). I really wish they would have, honestly, cheaped out on the caster mounts, and just threaded the bottom panel for them, instead you have 2 rails on the bottom threaded for 3 different types of casters, lots of options but pretty it ain't, if you want to use it any other way than as a roller. Those bottom rails should have been a bolt on, or just omitted. Also the included casters have a pretty large mounting plate, so for me who wants to use the rack sideways there is nowhere on the side with enough area to mount them without interfering with the door on that side. The grounding stud for the door is in a really odd location, invading the space of one of those bonus Us unless you move the rails back. There is plenty of other places they could have put that stud that would not have interfered, but the rail depth is adjustable so if you can sacrifice a little depth it's a pretty easy problem to solve. There is removable pass-through panels on the top and bottom (sides in my case) but none on the back. Which while I realize it is made so that you can mount it to a wall so maybe the thought was that the back would be blocked and need as much structure as possible, but it does make it so that any back cabling on deeper devices needs to be done either prior to mounting or through the sides, which are certainly accessible for shallower devices, but with deeper devices like network switches not so much, and again it is really heavily oriented to being a roller rather than primarily a wall mount. At the end of the day, I think they could have made a few tweaks that would have made it a more versatile product and either maintained or reduced the manufacturing cost at the same time.

Awesome equipment rack for the money
Everything you'd look for in an equipment rack / cabinet. Cost effective, sturdy, and lockable. Mounting holes are on 16" centers making attachment to studs easy. Super sturdy... I've got a decent bit of gear in it and zero concerns with it staying together. Side and Front access is huge. All lockable with a ton of spare keys (all the same). Added an AC fan to the top to keep air circulating. The Ubiquiti POE switch and USG get a quite warm. Only odd thing is it came with masonry anchors for mounting, but no wood lag bolts. Wasnt a huge deal as I had plenty laying around, but just a headsup to have 4 handy if you want to mount this to studs as soon as you get it. Will absolutely buy again when should the need arise.

It's actually 8U!
It's listed as a 6U rack, but it's actually 8U. There is an extra U at the top and bottom. The key is that only the middle 6U are accessible through the door. If you were to put something in the top and bottom extra U, you won't be able to access it after something is installed above/below it. In my attached picture, you can see there is a U below "1". Likewise, there's one above 6.I really like this little cabinet! It seems quite sturdy, and has support bars across the bottom where the castors mount. It includes 6 keys as well.
