Programming this key was the easy part. Though I was a bit disappointed when, after programming, I discovered that the alarm button didn't work. The lock and unlock buttons did though, so maybe that's good enough. After all, I never used the alarm button ever, except to scare my wife a few times. :-pFinding someone to CUT this key though, was a bit more difficult. Any mainstream hardware store (Lowes, Menards, Home Depot) no longer had the old manual cutting machines - everything was automated and programmed, etc.I had to find an old mom-and-pop hardware store with a manual cutter, to cut this key. They were afraid to, also, because these keys are a bit more expensive than regular keys. But I told them if the key cut didn't work, it wasn't their fault, and I wouldn't hold it against them. Thankfully, after cutting, it DID work, and I now have a new favorite hardware store.

I read the description several times and No it does not have the transponder Chip. Do not buy unless you only need the shell of the FOB

Works great with my 2005 Scion tC. Followed tutorial videos on YouTube and got the lock/unlock remote function to work as well. Could not get the alarm button to work but I don’t need it.

Took the blank to batteries and bulbs, cost $10 to cut $35 to program chip to ecu, so $50 instead of $280 from the dealer makes this an absolute steal of a deal.

Did not work for 2008 Scion tC. I used two pairing methods, I was able to successfully link the key to my car using o/c door 6 times method but it only bypassed the security feature. power locks did not work at all using different methods. Better off buying the $25 option from “remoteremote” that worked for me.

These keys work perfectly for a Yaris 2010.You can buy these keys and get a locksmith or dealer to do all the work for you. I warn you this may not be that cheap as both has to charge labour. Also, some unscrupulous vendors will make claims they can't do anything about the keys you supply (they'll go oh sorry you bought it from the Internet, i can't help you, but i can sell you keys i know will work for $250).I decided to do it myself. Second warning, it's not easy. These keys need 3 things done on it for my car, Yaris 2010.1. Car needs to be programmed to accept the transponder chip in the key.2. Car needs to be programmed to allow the Key fob to open/close the doors.3. Key needs to be cut by a locksmith.If you choose the DIY method, it would be wise to do your homework. See if you can get your car in programming mode (at least know how to get your car in programming mode) and even program the key fob (item 2) BEFORE cutting your key.In summary these keys worked great on a Yaris 2010 after i completed all the tasks.

I bought the key and was able to sync the FOB but after I got the key cut it would not turn over the vehicle due to the anti theft immobilizer. I took it to a Toyota dealership to have it programmed but it was unable to sync. Waste of time and money. 2011 Scion tC.
