Grandsons love them , but the gear boxes stripped out fairly quickly . They are fast for them

Let me start with saying Wow. This buggy has taken allot of abuse from me. Yea I have broken a few things but mostly my fault. Not due to bad driving skills. Just pure 100% s***s and giggles. I started out with this buggy running the stock 2s 3200 mah hard shell battery that this buggy came with. Plenty of power to have allot of fun with. Gravel spitting mayhem. Tires are hard. Thank god. I would have burned them off in the first month on the pavement. So got to the point I added custom led lights and (FPV). First person View. 600 mw fatshark transmitter and Fatshark HD pilot cam in the cab of buggy with nose of cam sticking out of cage. Soooo. Now I just needed more speed. Stuck in a 3000mah 3s Florion lipo. that Ihad laying around from a X525 quadrotor I built. Woooow. Holy pavement eating gravel chucking monster. And yes the 4500mah 3s florions barely fit. But 45min of heart pounding Fpv. Now after chasing neghbourhood cats and dogs I progressed to chasing cars . And thats when things started to break. Lol. Oh fun times. So the first thing is Dual rate steering. DR on transmitter. This allows you to turn down the amount of steering you have total. Turn down for high speed 3s speed runs. This thing turns really sharp. Full dr will let you do summersalts at high speeds, but not recomended. So. Then there is the spur gear. I melted it. Oops. Thought I got a rock in there wich can happen. But it was to much speed runs in a row. Not letting the buggy have cool down times in between high speed runs the motor has brass output gear and polimer or some type of plastic spur gear. So buy extra spur gears. And last is the shocks. I blew out all 4 of my shocks. In no way was that a bad shock. It more or less had to do with going off the side of the freeway onramp at 40 or 50 mph and summersalting down a half a football field hill. But thats another story. Then the curb I hit. Let me clarify. On 3s this cars on crack. It makes me feel like a stupid kid all over again. It is really durable i have flipped down the road 15-20 times. Uh and thats just one wreck. Ive juped it. Broken off fpv antennas blew tires off the rims going really fast then turning if the tires lift off the ground with high throttle inputs. The tires balloon out and will tear away from rims. Superglue fixed that. Bumpers have amazingly heald in there. Oh and I smashed the night vision led array on the front hitting a tree at night chasing cows in a field anyways roll cage made perfect cockpit for fpv camera. Car has accidently gone into the river. I wasnt even drinking. And my dog thinks its a high speed chew toy. And my other dog is scared s***less of it. So are girls when you go for there feet. I really beleive this buggy is nearing 50mph with 3s battery. 20 to 30C. Grat for the price. Needs a little stronger shocks but thats only from kartwheeling it down the road and jamming shocks sideways cracking plastic housings. Metal shock upgrades would solve this problem. But heavier duty plastic body truck shocks would do it. And higher temp spur gear. Or find a way to cool it without letting gravel get in where spur gear is. When doing forward and reverse donuts. But other than that what fun for 200. Bucks. Im shure redcats whole brushless line kicks but. Love the interchangeble suspension arms. I modded my transmitter and took off plastic antenna cover and pulled antenna out further and heatshrink tubed it. And buggys antenna needs to be a little longer or higher. For good 1/4 to 1/2 mile away. Tires are still really good off road plenty of sponge foam in them for good ride. Love the electric motor breaking. Then when its stopped you let go of pushing trigger forward for brake then push foward again and it will reverse. If the buggy is up against somthing the Esc senses this and will not allow you to give big throttle imputs. So you dont damage the Motor and Esc or Battery. Oh yea make shure you run a low voltage lipo alarm. You will just destroy batterys 3s buy higher C rating like 50C. For 3s. Stock 2s is 20C but Esc will handle more. Good luck. Have fun.

Great Brushless Buggy!!! Updated review
UPDATE reviewAfter my original review below this buggy has taken a beating!!! And it has held up extremely well!!!! It may break the next time I run it but it has been amazingly tough so far!!! Found a sandpile and have been jumping around with it. It has landed sometimes really hard on just about every part and it keeps coming back for more!!! The sand getting in it hasn't seemed to affect it at all. May hear a funny sound or two like grit in the drive train but it'll run it out quickly. Also after running it I have gained much better control over it. The car handles really well but my skill set is what needed some improvement!!! I am so pleased with this purchase and I would definitely buy it again!!!!!Original reviewMy first brushless and it's been tough!! I have a couple Redcat brushed cars and they were really fun. Ordered this one for the brushless and it's certainly a huge difference!! It's really fast which is great but it doesn't handle the best to me. Cornering to fast and it flips over easy. It doesn't jump the best as it flips forward at higher speeds. A little more practice on my part at speed control on turns and jumps it may be just fine. I've only used it on hard surface and grass. Maybe in loose dirt or gravel it'll handle better in turns. It's held up good after many flips and tumbles. I've only had the plastic body panel separate from the roll cage on a screw or two. They are pretty tiny in size. It's been a great buggy and I have no regrets buying it. Especially at $225!!! Looking forward to many more hours of fun with it!!!

A few small issues
I ordered this for my son's 7th birthday present. Some of the reviews say that it too young, but he handles my TRMT10 pretty good. Right out of the box we discovered that the steering was locked up. After investigating I found that one of the bushings on the steering had been covered with locktite and was bound up. After taking it apart and cleaning it it can now steer. Which brings me to issue two, which many people have complained about. What ever that stupid servo saver thing is on the servo, keeps slipping or locking up or not going back to neutral. My son doesn't really notice but it drives me crazy when I try to drive it. I just read all the reviews and ordered a new aluminum arm to put on there instead of that mess. Hopefully that will be it. Other than that, this car is sharp! It looks amazing, and runs great. Even in the hands of a 7 year old, it is withstanding all the jumps, crashes and rolls just fine. For the money it's an amazing deal. I can totally see us having a few more of these in the future some time.

Fast and durable
I really like this Redcat. Nice speed (close to 40mph on 2s and 50mph on 3s). Redcat does not recommend running 3s on the stock set up but people do it. I have bashed it pretty good and packed it full of snow this winter and it took it. Only reason 4 stars is a lower arm pin fell out a couple times but is now fixed with small washer. I did return my 1st one because it just stopped working and if this one does same I will lower my rating but this truggy is so fun for now I am keeping at 4 stars. I have since bought a Traxxas Maxx and Arrama Typhon and I still love bashing around with this Redcat. Good value for $ IMO.

Redcat Racing Blackout XBE Pro Brushless Electric Buggy
Wow what a blast to operate, and is quite quick, arrived as shown, but I did have to wait and extra 4 days for it, but that was not shippers fault, it was couriers fault. Very impressed. Great fun.
