Clay in Motion Handwarmer Mug (Left Hand, Riverstone)

I love these hand warmer mugs! I have two of my own (shown in the photos) and I bought the black one on Amazon for a relative after she complimented mine. They are so beautiful, big enough to hold your morning brew with plenty of room for cream or milk. I love how your fingers fit snuggly in the opening and the other hand can wrap around the other side. Or you can use the opening as a handle. The mug is smooth and glossy, and because it is hand glazed every mug is different! You can wash it in the dishwasher, too, or at least I do! There is nothing like a mug handmade and hand glazed. I have another one that is ceramic, mass produced, and it just isn't the same. These are made by real people who perfected their craft and I just cannot say enough good things! When you buy, just get two! One for you, one for someone who has cold hands!

My first ordered mug arrived broken, not enough packing to sustain the shipment. The company refunded me and promptly sent a replacement which I received today, it’s in perfect condition! I love these hand warmer mugs, and I frequently gift them to friends.

I boiled water and tracked the inside and outside temperatures. Allow me to warn you that the mug may exhibit a heat transfer delay. So your first touch of the mug after a fresh-poured beverage may seem tolerable, but if you continue to carry it or pick up the mug again, the high temperature could be intolerable. The outside "fold" of the pocket is not in contact with the heat, and would be the simplest way to carry the drink, without gloves or potholder, if you must. At 3:10 pm, I poured boiling water in the mug and measured the water at 198° And the mug at 168°. At 3:15 pm, water was 167° and mug 147°. At 3:25 pm, water was 152°, mug 141°. At 3:30 pm, water was 142°, mug 134°. At 3:40 pm, water was 129°, mug was 120°, and at this point, the mug was tolerable for my pain threshold. I add cold cream to my coffee, so it normally takes me about 20 minutes before I can tolerate the temp. It takes even less time when the AC or ceiling fan are running, or I'm sitting outside in the wintery cold air. Also, I don't normally pour boiling water straight in my mug; my coffee cools down in the French press as I wait for the brewing. So temps are variable based on circumstances. But I do know it will never take more than half an hour to comfortably grip my coffee mug, based on the above figures. This mug is beautiful and it fits comfortably in my hand. This past week I've been looking forward to relaxing with a cup of coffee. I might just get me one now! Well worth the price. The one issue I have, that had me concerned for a while was the picture that shows up under my order history is of a screen protector. I almost cancelled my order, for fear of receiving a screen protector instead of the mug. The same picture appeared after I ordered the mug for my sister (yes, I bought this as a gift, too. I told you! I love this mug!) I tried answering a question below, and I received a message saying I had to buy this through Amazon to reply. I'll be surprised if this review goes through! But it could be a web glitch. As for the mug itself, I absolutely love it! If you decide to use it as a pencil holder, you can use the pocket flap to store those black triangle clips on. 🙂 But it really is worth it as a hot beverage mug.

This is my favorite coffee mug of all time. I like my mugs a little bigger so it’s perfect. The design is simple and you can’t ask for a better color selection.

It’s larger than expected and beautiful but too hot to hold. I bought one for my friend for her birthday and bought one for myself a few months later. she’s right handed and I’m left-handed. we both have had to hold in the opposite hand to hold comfortably when it’s hot. I might suggest purchasing the opposite hand and just told the mitt part like a handle. Either way it’s a very beautiful gift and I’m enjoying mine very much too.
