Excellent beard straighter
Excellent product. Works well for my curly to straight beard. No burns.

Works great
I bought this more for my hair than my beard ...which is short ...but apparently too short for this brush to be effective. Which is fine. Because I bought it primarily to tame my awkward stage hair as I grow it out. This is a quality product, fit and finish are nice and the brush has a solid feel to it. The handle is rubberized and provides a comfortable grip. When you plug the brush in the temperature window shows "OFF". Push the power button for a long second until you see the default temperature (360deg) in the window. Push the button to cycle through the temperature settings. Once set, the brush heats fairly quickly.I can't comment on how it works on beards because you need at least a good inch to two inches of growth for it to work; I'm a little shy on that. For my hair, which is about 4-5 inches long, the brush works great at smoothing and taking out some excess curl and wave. As in for beards, you use the brush on dry hair. Before using it on your hair rub in a light dose of argan oil or heat protectant. The brush is just the right size making it easy to hold and maneuver and it's a good travel size as well; it comes with a storage/travel bag. The only glitch I've found is when I grab the handle it is easy to push the temperature button and raise the setting.Overall it's a nice brush that works great, no matter what head hair you use it for.

Great Product, Minor Design Flaw
After doing some research I decided to give the Aberlite Pocket a shot. I have only been using it for a few weeks now but I am pretty happy with it. Researching beard strengthening I learned to use the lowest setting possible to get results. This product only has 5 settings. The lowest 260 does not work for me. I need to use the second setting of 290 in order to straighten my beard. I have not tried using 330 yet, it might work better than the 290 I use. The final two are pretty high at 360 and 400.Pro: I like the size, weight, and the 360 swivel power cord. Reasonably priced as well.Con: For me the design flaw is the location of the power and temperature setting button. It is right where my thumb is while using the brush. I have inadvertently increased the temperature while using and I’m constantly hitting the button which makes me nervous.Maybe future models will relocate the power button and temperature display to the backside of the brush head?

Typoes in the instructions but functions properly
ANOTHER EDIT:Almost a year later, the tines are slowly chipping away--about 1 per month comes loose, after the first 3 months. Are straighteners supposed to wear out in a year? I will leave the 3-star rating, but I encourage others to find a better product. After using it a few times... Two (minor) problems:1. Typoes in the instructions. Implies it is one of those cheap Chinese products who used Google translate. I cannot confirm anything; it simply made me suspicious.2. After turning it off and un-plugging, when it is "cooling", all of the heat seems to radiate from the bristles. It becomes MUCH hotter than it was during use. You can burn yourself. The instructions and safety guide do NOT indicate this.[edit] I have used it every day and WOW I can tell the difference on days I do not use it. I only heat it to 360, and it takes only a few minutes--about 5-8 slow strokes on each area of my face. I will never return to having an un-straightened beard. BeardTube convinced me to buy a straightener and he was absolutely right.

Very small and effective, but not as durable as I would like after 1 year of use
Overall, this is a great beard straightener for the price, especially since its cheaper now than when I bought it. I have now had this for just over 1 year. I had a larger Aberlite beard straightener prior to this that lasted about 1.5 years. This one heats up fast, cools down fast, and seems to work very well. The curve to the head is a big plus when going around the jaw line and from under the beard (?bottom). The size was the biggest selling point for me since I was tired of using the larger one and also packing it took up too much space.I have two issues with this straightener. 1. Its very difficult to clean, which might be true of all beard straighteners, but this one gets dirty quick, especially if you are using balms or oils. 2. The outer tines start to get very brittle and break easily. I have 7 broken now and I feel like I take good care of this thing. One broke just from trying to wrap the velcro strap around it and the cord rubbed against one of the tines. So that is disappointing. For $40, buying one of these a year isn't bad. Its a little dirty as well and a new one would be a good choice. I am going to look around at options for other straighteners, but this might be the best that is out there for the price.
