Q: Are these straight and 90 degree plugs? How many of each?

One I bought had what the description says; it's a pack of 3. Also one head is straight and one head is 90 degrees on all 3 in case what you meant was that you thought they had mixed types in the bag. So 3 with one end straight, the other 90 degrees. Oddly enough, because of the picture... When I bought it, I was a little confused and thought it had a bendable head so you could choose straight or 90 but that's not the case. The description made more sense after I got the product. Hope my description made sense.

Q: Is this unit easy to use?

Depends on how your case is laid out. If the case is crowded, it may be difficult to get the motherboard side of the cable connected (both ends are the same but you'll connect one to the drive and one to the motherboard). This isn't a fault of the cable, of course. I will say that the locking clips keep the cable connected. I used these to replace non-clipped cables and those would work themselves loose a couple of times per month. I haven't had one come loose since I bought these.

Q: Do i actually get the sata iii speeds with a normal motherboard? or do i need to buy a special motherboard or something that has sata iii capabilities

Mainly you need a matherboard tha support sataIII,a disk thar support sataIII,then a cable like this one that connect those things all together.you can connect different standard(satai,ii,iii) and will be used the lower one.

Q: how well do these work with blue ray players?
