Great Stuff... better to get in this smaller 4oz bottle.
I'm a professional equestrian outfitter and I used to purchase this in the jug size from a wholesale vendor thinking I was saving money. I've discovered this tiny size is much better because, firstly, it comes with it's own dauber attached to the lid. (Sure, you can buy daubers, but you needed several to get through a jug as they wear out before you finish it. Also, not being able to store the dauber inside the jug makes for a messy storage proposition and they dry out, necessitating a new dauber!) And secondly, the dressing in the bottom of the jug would always get thick and unusable before I finished it and would have to be thrown out anyway. So, I'm so happy I found this here!As for how the product works... it works great *if you use it for what it is intended for*. It is, just what it says, edge dressing for soles and heels of boots. It is also good for any heavy duty black leather that has suffered a severe color loss or stain in a small area. And by heavy duty, I mean like a black girth or a saddle that's suffered a scratch you need to fill in. It is NOT for soft leathers, Italian leathers, shoe leathers, soft folding (wallet) leather, etc. It will, as some have complained in earlier reviews, crack and flake if used in that manner. Note it is not a conditioner and it is not a shoe polish. Think of it as a PAINT.It is for stiff, stable leather only that isn't subject to a lot of flexibility. Really and truly it's for the sole edges and heels of dress (military or equestrian) boots. If you use it for that purpose only, you will be very happy. It has the best color penetration and retention and "scar repair" of any leather-coloring product I have tried.

Be Careful
This product is great so long as you desire a HIGH GLOSS shine on your heal. I am no longer in the military so didn’t need such a shine. I was hoping for a more subdued restore. Still an excellent product.

A little TOO good
I was not expecting this to work this well. My expectation was that it would marginally better than the Kiwi product. No. This is exactly what you want for a military or business-to-formal need. This is the product I wish I had in the Army all those years ago.Tried extending the life of these Vans. Like I said… When you love too much. :D.

Best Shine Ever
I got my wife to order this off her Amazon account. I'm a full time law enforcement officer, and occassionally am asked to serve as part of my agencies honor guard. So when I take the time to polish my boots, I expect serious results. An old Seabee taught me how to bring my boots to a real spit shine when I was asked to participate in my first honor guard ceremony as a cadet and I've improved on his method over the years with a few little tricks of my own.I've tried several different ways to shine the soles and rubber parts of my work boots, and up to this point, the best shine I could get on the rubber was either with kiwi scratch repair or by caking layers of shoe polish onto the rubber and vigorously going over it with my horse hair brush. I noticed this product while buying my Lincoln Stain Wax Black Shoe Polish (way better than Kiwi Parade Gloss) and decided to give it a shot. After bringing my boots to a very nice mirror shine, I pulled out the bottle of edge dressing and shook it up. Unscrewing the bottle, I found an applicator similar to the one used to apply PVC Glue and Primer. I carefully began applying the edge dressing to the rubber parts of my boot and was surprised at how quickly and smoothly it went on. The applicator holds too much product and tends to drip but if I pressed it against the sides of the bottle mouth to remove the excess amount, and very lightly brushed it on and the drip ceased to be an issue.I was shocked by the results. My rubber edges are now glossier than my mirror shine. It looks soaking wet. I'm considering resurfacing my entire boot with it. I may try it with an old pair of wolverines and repost the results here.
