I get the concept of the sound being unpleasant for the dog and associate the sound with their own bark as a deterrent. My dog either has a higher tolerance for the sound or doesn't care. His barking at everything the moves and everyone in the house is unchanged by these devices. I will keep looking and try not to give up on believing that something out there will work after the collar failure due to him rubbing against furniture to flip the prongs outward so collars don't work. These sound devices don't work either. My neighbor's dog is 10x louder even from across the street and they just let him bark nonstop from the time they let him outside until they show mercy on the neighborhood and bring him back inside. He is barking as I type this. Their other 2 dogs just stand in the yard looking at the loud one. They never bark. So I have an outside and inside problem unfortunately. Won't bother offering this to the neighbors as a solution.

It works but the battery dies fast and the range isn’t great

First time I turned them on my dogs went off at it and the barking got worse. Now they don't even pay attention to it. Not worth it.

It may be dog specific but I feel the unit I received is ultra sensitive or it emits a certain frequency at just the on position. I have two dogs. I'm assuming one of my dogs is overly sensitive to the frequency. When they bark it does go off as it should but I feel it emits a sound even when the red light isn't on and they aren't barking. Whenever I turn it on, my one dog cowers the entire time it's on, like i said, even when they aren't barking. I have even turned it on while in another room and brought it out to them and the dog still reacts this way. I found it also going off when humans cough or sneeze.

Love the size. But the batteries are too short lived, and not necessarily easy to find at a regular store (here, yes). But though they seemed to help a little to deter barking, most certainly did not stop it.

The batteries held up for about a month or so of use, and the device worked amazingly for about a month. It was magical to have a quiet dog! The sound didn’t seem to hurt his ears, he just got quiet and looked at it when he set it off, then didn’t bark for most of the time. However, after about a month or so, he suddenly became oblivious to it. I thought maybe the batteries were too low, and it did die shortly after that, but I’ve replaced the batteries now and he’s still had several barking fits, completely unfazed by this device.

We recently moved, and our dog barks at every falling leaf, every passerby, every squirrel... sigh. In general, we really like PetSafe products, so I bought this PetSafe indoor bark control. Our dog barked at the control box. We tried all the different settings, and it didn't matter. We ended up returning it in favor of a bark control collar (not the shocky kind).
