I love this barrette style - much longer and thinner than average. It also has a black fabric covering the bottom clip, which I guess helps protect your hair better? I have thin hair, so this works perfectly. No snags or loose flyaway hairs for this one. It's pricier than other options, but few barrettes are made in this style, so it's worth it to me.

This thin, weak barrette arrived with the clip part unattached - I pinched the insertion point with pliers and repaired it. Nevertheless, it doesn’t close super tightly and slides out.

Too tight, it tears my hair. It's difficult to position in hair because you can't open it very far to pass your hair through. It is nice looking, but uncomfortable.
