My favorite set of SPD pedals
I'm upgrading from a pair of Shimano A530 (flat on one side, SPD on the other - I got these because of a few bad experiences not being able to clip out quickly enough in traffic, on busy bike paths, and on steep grades). I had read countless reviews before stumbling across these - "as good as the XT / XTR pedals" is high praise. So I took a chance and got these.I use these on a road bike (against "the rules", but I like recessed cleats and walkability). One big reason to get these over minimalist SPD designs for a road bike is the generous area for your shoe to interface. Not as big as the Crank Bros. Mallet or the EnRage version of these pedals, but big enough, especially if you have stiff soles on your shoes.I have to say, I love them so far. The tension adjustment has a wider range than my Shimanos, especially on the lower (easier) end. I love the look of them and the knurled platform which offers noticeably more stability than the A530, which has no platform to speak of on the SPD side. They are much quieter than my A530s which squeaked all the time (sole against pedal), especially under load (climbs and sprints). They have a few more degrees of float. I have done a few climbs in these and they felt nice and planted with no hot spots on my feet. What I really like is the distinct "zones" of resistance as you rotate your heel back and forth. This may be subjective, but it gives me much more useful feedback than my Shimano pedals. The float is easy and effortless, then you meet a very clear increase in resistance (which you control with then tension screw) before you clip out. And once you exceed the resistance, the clipout is SO smooth and effortless. Once you meet that area of resistance, they just eject - no getting stuck against the shoe lugs. This has always been my biggest fear as a novice rider is not being able to clip-out quickly enough - and with these, I finally feel safe doing away with my hybrid platform/SPD pedals.Clipping in is equally satisfying with a distinct click. With the flat surround, I would feel comfortable starting from an intersection without being fully clipped in - there's plenty of surface area. But so far, clipping in has been easy.Had an issue when I tried to register the pedals on the LOOK website (said the serial number was invalid, which is ominous since I'm buying these from Amazon and not an authorized LOOK reseller) but am waiting on a response from Look customer service to sort that out.Overall very happy and would recommend these as an alternative to other high end, lightweight SPD pedals out there.

So far so good...
I've been using my old Shimano M535 from bike to bike for the past 20 years and while they still worked well, it was way past time for something newer and lighter on my current Trek Procaliber 9.7So, I'm giving these a try. I don't ride in a rocky area so I'm not as concerned about pedal strikes damaging their carbon construction. I'm thrilled at the function (easy in and out) and light weight. And also, they just look trick! Hopefully, they'll last at least half as long as my old ones.

Good pedals
They work with SPD cleats and look (pun intended) better on my road bike than the Shimano XT/XTR's. I loosened the tension based on others' reviews and they release pretty well. The release mechanisms are polished, which is a little blingy if you're into that.

Love these pedals
I have been juggling my shimano pedals between my XC bike and my gravel bike so I ended up purchasing these to pretty much stay on my gravel bike. Unfortunately I am back to juggling these Look pedals between the two bikes again because I like them so much better than my shimano pedals. 😂

A great pedal to compete with the Shimano XTR pedals
I have found this pedal to be lighter and every bit as durable as Shimano's XTR pedals--which I was using until I found these. On a practical note: you may find that they're a little stiff for entrance and exit, initially. However, you can adjust the tension on them just as you would the XTRs. In my opinion, this is a great pedal and would whole-heartedly recommend these to anyone looking for a solid on or off-road performer.

A great SPD pedal
I've owned these pedals for about six months now. In that time I have ridden 1700 miles on them. I have had zero issues with these pedals. Never have they failed in anyway. I bought two more pairs for my son's gravel and cyclocross bikes and he has had zero issues with them as well. They just work.

Clips too tight at lowest setting.
At the pedal-clip’s loosest setting, I still found them to be too tight, compared to other brands that I’ve previously owned.
