Mane 'n TailDetangler 32oz Sprayer and Refill Gallon, Eliminates Knots & Conditions Hair for Horses & Dogs

This detangler has been a staple in my grooming kit for years, especially with a horse who had textured, wavy hair and now with a large Haflinger who has fairly straight and lofty hair but A LOT of it. After grooming his coat, I give his mane a quick few sprays, top to bottom several sprays in his tail, and let it sit while cleaning out his hooves. This makes brushing it through, working from the bottom up, with a good brush much easier. I do this about 3x a week and haven't had any dreds, knots, or other issues. It is slippery, so don't use in key areas if you're going to be riding bareback or grabbing mane! In my opinion, better smell and performance than Show Sheen and a lot less mess than the oily type of detanglers (like Cowboy Magic, though I would recommend that for tackling a horse whose mane or tail is full of burrs).I prefer just to buy the gallon and use my own spray bottle, as removing the sprayer on the Straight Arrow bottles is sometimes impossible, however this was the only way to get the gallon this time. The sprayers have always worked well, just not screwed off the bottle. Still, likely waste of the small bottle aside, the best deal I can find on this detangler!

Does a great job of helping to detangle the long hair of our Rocky Mountain Horse. Can use daily without build-up. Scent is okay. A little goes a long way.

This has become my favorite spray for de-tangling tails and manes. We like to be sure our horses' tails are slick before riding out in the desert where we live because they can catch Cholla cactus pieces in their tails easily. It's much better to be able to get it out quickly than have them slap themselves and their neighbors over and over with the cactus. It's also great value for the price. I've used it on my dogs, too. Smells great!

I bought one bottle last fall as I needed something in a hurry for my horse. I was that owner attacking her mane and tail... without using anything to prevent breaking. I will say, this item works very well and smells really good. One thing: make sure you use at least weekly if not 2-3 times. I have noticed a significant difference in her mane and tail. It is softer, not as brittle, and easier to brush.
