Better than the 5000 combo for me
I have worn letters off many keyboards and find this one comfortable enough but nothing special. It took some getting used to and I don't find the split space/back bar all that necessary, but it is a little better than the 5000 combo it is replacing. The mouse has a power switch (unnecessary for the keyboard) and is a little smaller. I programmed the windows button for copy and paste but either it's unreliable or I don't have the nack for it yet. You "swipe" it with your thumb so this would be intuitive but it only works 20% of the time... still practicing though. The key placement seems good to excellent but of course if you type a lot you're going to see a little adjustment period where you might hit two keys occasionally. After a few days I found it comfortable and well-designed for a heavy Word and Excel user.

One of the best keyboards I have used
This keyboard is so comfortable that I wish my other keyboards and my laptop were shaped like this one. Very easy to use and fully featured with a number of alternative keys. The mouse is ergonomic and very responsive, but I don't use the thumb swipe button on the side. I would recommend it highly.

One of the better keyboards I have had.
This keyboard has a very nice look and feel. It is comfortable in long periods of typing with its ergonomic curved shape and its medium travel push keys. The mouse also has a nice weight and feel about it. the sides have a rubber texture for an easy grip and is pretty comfortable. It is responsive, sensitive, and accurate. Software and drivers seem to download and start to install automatically when first plugging in the small USB receiver. The software allows for customization of several keyboard and mouse functions as well as creating and executing custom macros. The thumb button on the mouse is also “swipe” sensitive. By default, swiping up and down the button’s surface flips forward and backwards between web pages, but this is also customizable. Though the packaging and descriptions imply that it is designed for Windows 8, all features work just fine with Windows 7. The price for the keyboard /mouse combo was very fair. While I really do like using this wireless desktop, there are a number of things that I am not pleased with. These are just my opinion, but you may prefer these. The space bar is split to allow the left side to be the Backspace key. I guess this is to support the “Ergo” design, but I think it is unnecessary. Hitting where the spacebar splits is very distracting while typing. The special functions of the function keys are enabled via a mode switch that stays in its selected setting. I think this should have been a “per use” button with a function mode lock option. There is a mini vibrator in the mouse that is briefly activated when using the thumb swipe. While I’m sure it has some purpose, I find it more distracting then useful and I wonder how it affects battery life. I don’t see a way of disabling it. The top of the mouse has a shiny black finish. While the mouse looks nice, it quickly shows fingerprints and is slippery when pressing the mouse buttons. I actually took the mouse top (removable for battery access) and sanded it with a fine sandpaper to give it a little texture. I don’t recommend doing this though. My mouse went from “pretty” to “pretty ugly”. No Pause / Break key. While not commonly used these days, I discovered it was not there while needing it to do some command line scripting. One last note. Using this keyboard causes the installation of Windows 7 to fail on my HP desktop. This does not mean this would happen on all computers and operating systems, but something worth remembering should you also have to rebuild your system with this keyboard. Despite my issues with it, overall this is one of the better keyboards I have had.

Nice wireless keyboard and mouse set
I have no use for any of the Windows 8 stuff! That aside, this is a nice set. There are a bunch of Win 8 function keys on the F keys. There is a switch to turn them off and just make them F keys. Great! The installation is basically automatic. Just install the INCLUDED batteries for the mouse, pull the blue tab to make the batteries in the keyboard work, make sure the mouse is turned on (there is a switch on the bottom), and plug in the USB transmitter. The is a configuration screen that comes up. You can make changes to the buttons and so on. The mouse worked on all surfaces I tried. My old mouse would not work on my desktop but this one does. The palm rest comes off and makes a lot smaller footprint. I will leave it on in my application. I did not try a range test but so far it is fine. I would like a little more key travel but I think this is a nice replacement for my old wireless desk set.

GREAT KEYBOARD BUT... ZERO accountability from Microsoft -WILL NOT HONOR THE "3 YEAR" warranty.
Ok, so I love this keyboard. But, consider it a disposable keyboard. Works beautifully for a couple of months. Then gets laggy and unresponsive, even after replacing batteries and changing ports with the dongle. There are no updated drivers for this as this one was created in 2016 and apparently they no longer have updates for it. How very Microsoft of you. And now for the story: Letters rubbed of about a month in... and BECAUSE OF THIS, MICROSFOT WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY. Spent almost TWO HOURS on chat and phone with these f*ckers. Support determined that it was, indeed, a hardware issue. (OK, sounds good... sooo replace it, right?) Was then asked to send a photo of the keyboard. So, I take pic with phone, send it to email, download into desktop so I can upload into support chat, dear god... Agent take a look at then states, well the key letters have rubbed off. Yes, I respond, that's another issue. Had it since Sept 23, 2020. Letters came off by November. THEN, the agent has the freaking audacity to say, "Well, this is a cosmetic issue and it's not covered. It's considered normal wear and tear." Ummmmm..... I contacted Microsoft because the keys were skipping, the space bar was laggy, and the enter button was sketchy. Wasn't concerned with the key letters rubbing off. However, the agent stuck to that script for the rest of the session. Kept saying over and over, it's a cosmetic issue and we don't cover that. I kept responding with, "But, uuuummmm, that's NOT the issue that I contacted you about!!" CSR: "But, we don't cover normal wear and tear." ME: "Yes, but the keys are skipping and the tech agent already confirmed a HARDWARE ISSUE." CSR: "I'm so sorry but we don't cover normal wear and tear of the keyboard." ME: "Yes, I got that. HOWEVER, its a hardware issue." We did this until I got angry and started writing in all caps and started cussing... LOL And she kept repeating the SAME THING. So, I finally said, "So, what you're telling me is that even though the keyboard has a confirmed hardware issue, and I've had it less than 6 months, you won't honor the 3 year warranty because the letters on my keys have worn off (which is courtesy of Microsoft's sh*tty silkscreening?)" "Yes. I'm so sorry" Was the reply. And... then it dawned on me.... They requested the pic of my keyboard so that they could GET OUT OF HONORING THE WARRANTY BY SAYING THAT IT HAS A COSMETIC ISSUE. Oh, Microsoft. The amount of bad karma that you are producing is astounding and is going to come back to haunt you in more ways than you could ever imagine. *I'm looking at you Bill* LOVE the keyboard, BUT will only last a few months. It's disposable. So, you know what I did? Purchased this again last night at Best Buy and got the Best Buy Geeks Squad 2year Accident Replacement warranty. Cut out MS altogether. So when this ones fails, I'll just got get another one. Yep, lovely disposable keyboard. Thank for coming to my TedTalk.

Great
Love this mouse and keyboard combo. The keyboard is comfortable and the setup is easy the mouse does work with Windows 7 but does not have as many uses as it does with Windows 8. I have not tried to use the mouse on Windows 10 yet. The mouse works great. Only small issue I have is the keyboard. To turn off the keyboard so you don't kill your batteries you have to take out a battery there is no off switch but then again it's only a small price to pay for what you get so no biggie.. I would recommend this to a friend for sure

Great keyboard, but the #2 key takes more force than all the other keys
Here's the thing...I love/hate this keyboard. I love it's shape and style and how it feels and all that. I love that it's wireless and has a nice mouse with some snazzy features (like a windows button and programmable keys) and it seems to be laid out well for my development work. But I hate how the numbers 1,2 & 3 (but especially the #2) are harder to press than the rest of the keys. I realize now how many times I use the number2 in my every day life once I try to enter a password with a 2 in it and it doesn't work. How I try to type out my email address that has a 2 in it and that doesn't work. How I list things out and there's no 2....at first I thought it was maybe a lemon (the first keyboard they sent me I mean) but when I got a replacement, I realized the number2 key on that keyboard is also more difficult to press than all the other keys. The replacement is a LITTLE better, but not much. pressing a 2 does not always produce a 2 with this keyboard. By this I mean there seems to be a design flaw where the same amount of force used to type your name or the number 9 or whatever is not enough force to trigger the number2 key (the one above the letters, not the one on the keypad). This is very annoying as it means I now have to essentially double the amount of force I use to press ALL the keys or else I'll forget about that one key and many of my 2's won't show up. I'm pretty disappointed at this.

Best Keyboard I've Ever Had
My mother bought this same keyboard for me about 6 years ago as a birthday gift. Recently, I came to realize it was time for a new one, as the most-used keys were blank, and one of the feet had broken off ... but what can you expect after 6 years of daily use and moving it from office to home and back again several times in the interim? So, I looked for a new one. I didn't like any of the ones I found and was starting to give up hope. Then I spotted this one ... the EXACT same keyboard! I love it! Thank you!
