The Woman of Wyrrd: The Arousal of the Inner Fire

This is a wonderful journey into spirituality and a small study of Celtic Paganism. I HAVE READ ALL of Lynn Andrew's books beginning with MEDICINE WOMAN. The books are written as a relationship between Lynn and the women who guide her, two Native Amercan women. I love that there is no boundary between theologies and many spiritualities are addressed. Lynn is taught how to "live" her ideals instead of "preach" them. Whether you take the entire narrative of each book as what actually occurs or not is not important. The lessons are entwined within the story and can stand alone. The ONLY reason I did not give four stars to one of the most umportant books that I have ever read is because of the cover!...I own a copy of the book when it was first published years ago. The cover incorporates a wonderful picture of a Celtic young woman and Hawk. The newest cover is a bazaar abstract that not only isn't connected in any way with the warmth of the story but would "put off" a new reader browsing the racks. I would advice the new reader to look for an old copy of the book and the publishing company to revisit the book art!

rhe book is what I expected, arrived on time and in great condition.I am disappointed in Amazon's decision to discontinue sales of items with the Confederate flag. To deny one groups rights to appease another groups sensitivities is not justice. Shame on you, Amazon, for knuckling under to political correctness. By discontinuing the sales of these items, you are denying the same rights the individuals calling for the removal of the Confederate flag are demanding.

Woman of Wyrrd is the first of Lynn's books that I read. It captured me. Then I purchased and read the books in the order that they were published. I'm looking forward to reading her latest book.

Lynn Andrews is always a wonderful read. Quite a few years ago I read each one as it came out, but somehow missed this one. So fun to be back in the fold of the Women of the Shield, and to see Ruby again.
