Daiwa J-Braid 300M 8-Strand Woven Round Braid Line

J-braid ×8 specification on the Daiwasports.co.uk and .eu websites shows thickness 0.24mm for 40lb braid, which is what I was expecting. The label on this product says 0.32mm, 40lb.Having tried to measure the diameter I've found the cross-section isn't round; I get 0.28mm for the smaller dimension but I'm unable to measure the larger dimension. The amount I load on a spool suggests the average is about 0.32mm as labelled. Consequently, I'm not able to load as much on a spool as expected. The additional thickness also has implications for tying on a leader: the FG knot is quite large and I don't know how security and durability will be affected on a tapered shock leader, or if I need to increase the diameter of the leader.Intending to use this for beach casting, the bigger concern I have is the extra drag when casting and when in the water. I'm going to have to try it out to find how this limits its use. On the plus side, it may be more abrasion resistant.

It was dnapped half way through the spool was waste of money

Diameter of this braid is really thin it’s easy to cast as great knot strength and last so long keeps color well to highly recommend.

The sound tells how much friction you have and Diawa J8 is silent when reeling in.Smooth casting and consistency with the construction means that you won't have to worry about any weak spots when your bringing in that memorable catch.It does loose the color so keep a dark green marker handy to touch it up once in a while.

Excellent supperb line

This is my go to braid line. I like the island blue color. The line is much thinner and smoother than power pro and allows me to cast further.
