Brightness and relisbility
You’re not going to find better LED bulbs than those made by CREE. My most recent order of R-floods for my downstairs came quickly, met with the brightness advertised, and were easily installed. Actually, they were better than what I had expected, but then CREE bulbs have never been a disappointment. If you like daylight lighting rather than soft-white, which I do, these bulbs will not disappoint. All of my lighting for the last number of years has been done with CREE bulbs. And yes, I’ve tried other bulbs when in a pinch, but replaced them with CREE as soon as I had a chance. Yes, I’m a real consumer, I don’t work for CREE, I’m just convinced they are the best LED bulbs on the market.

Great light until they stop working. Cree is no longer the standard of excellence in lighting
I put in 12 of these lights, and have had 3 fail in the first 6 months. Thats a 25% fail rate so far. The first light that failed I submitted a form on their site and received no confirmation, but a light showed up the next week. The next two have failed and even after doing the same contact cree through their site, no answer, no replacements, etc.The bulbs also buzz slightly when dimming at various ranges, which I could get over if they lasted.I used to think Cree was the gold standard, but their quality is greatly lacking. I have different dimmable cree bulbs in my bathroom and although I have tried two compatible dimmers they don't come on unless the dimmer is half way up, then you can dim back down to low. They also buzz at almost all light levels. I am highly disappointed.

Nice and bright
These 23 watt Cree bulbs are nice and bright. The description says "bright white" and the color temperature is supposed to be 3000K but to my eyes they appear to be cooler. Perhaps more like 4000K. At any rate they are nice and bright. They are rated at 1750 lumens and are brighter than the halogen bulbs I replaced that are rated at 1790 lumens. They are perfect for the recessed cans in my ceiling. I only recently installed these bulbs so can't comment on their longevity. I would buy these again unless they burn out prematurely in which case I will update this review.

25% Failure Rate In 6 Months
Replaced all (60) of my ceiling lighting bulbs with Cree LEDs for their efficiency and longevity. Cree is considered top of the line in this category. Of the eight bulbs in my kitchen two failed within the first 6 months. I contacted Cree and they told me they would send replacements. The next day they emailed to inform me that the company has decided to focus on commercial business only and that these bulbs were "removed" from warranty. They did offer a prorated refund if I returned them with a receipt. I responded with a request for a prepaid shipping label. Haven't heard back yet. These kind of bulbs are supposed to last several years.Very disappointed in this company. Now I'm holding my breath about the other bulbs all over the house.

Nice cool bright R40 bulb
Needed a bright cool white bulb for a new bathroom fan. This one works great.

These are some of the brightest LED floods on the market
These are great for indoor, high ceilings, high lumen applications. I buy a ton of them for our house of worship. My only concern is sometimes they don’t last as long as I would hope. Could be six months or three years, But considering they’re only on for a few hours per week I would expect them to last decades. However I still really love these bulbs.

Bright, white light
Arrived very quickly. Really bright white light. Replaced old incandescent lamps so I can save money on energy and couldn’t be happier. Not sure about longevity but I’ll update if they go out.

Worked great... for one month
UPDATE: It is now Dec 26 2022 and a SECOND bulb in a different fixture has stopped working. For those keeping track, that's two defective bulbs in less than two months.ORIGINAL: I bought these BR40 Cree LED bulbs for my kitchen overhead recessed lighting. The kitchen has a 12 ft. ceiling, so I bought the 1750 lumen, 3000k bulbs. They were the perfect choice. One month after installation, one of the bulbs stopped working. I don't think you can claim that an LED bulb 'burns out', but it stopped working. I hope that this is not a predictor of the other bulbs, but I'm beginning to think that LED bulbs are not the 'slam dunk' replacement for incandescent bulbs that we have been led to believe.
