It works. Always tricky to know if these things are telling the truth (I've certainly used some which are total garbage), but this one seems to find everything pretty accurately. I think you'll struggle to get better under £50. I wouldn't rely on it 100%, I don't think it's giving perfect pinpoint accuracy, but it certainly seems able to reliably detect if there are live wires in a wall, and really I just need to know the general area to avoid with my drill.

It’s good and really easy to use. It’s fairly accurate but sometimes seems to go off randomly when it isn’t near to a stud, overall though for the price it’s great. Gives you piece of mind when drilling

Save your time and money. I used this to find studs for a TV mount, and it beeped in several places that had no stud behind them. I followed the instructions and checked from different directions, but it still left me with a wall full of useless holes. This product is completely ineffective and not worth the hassle.

It does find studs but then sometimes it doesn't and finds studs that aren't there. I'm using it though thin hardboard and not getting results I'm 100% confident with. It will often point to a stud and then not find a stud. If used very carefully and moved very slowly multiple times over a surface you can be fairly sure that you have found (or not) what you are looking for but its shouldn't need that much effort.

Works perfectly well when you understand HOW it works. Yes it starts to sense electical cables at some distance, but it is easy enough to locate the run of the cable quite accurately if you follow the instructions. Fantastic for the price.

This is a really handy stud finder for everyday use where you’re pretty sure what’s behind a wall and need reassurance. The depth for hidden cables isn’t huge but those within a capping under skim/boards were picked up ok. The stud finder alert did keep going off when pointed in my direction but then I realised I’m just a massive stud (ask the Wife).

Works ok but for a DeWalt branded item, I feel its a little below par in performance.
