A lot of reviews say 18 gage wire didn't work.
I used 20 gage wire without any issues. The instructions state remove plastic ring for thicker wire (18 gage) I'd say thats what the manufacturer is talking about?

Won't stay closed on 18 AWG wiring
Bought these to use in a chandelier I am building, but am most likely going to toss them and just use wing nuts. These connects are a great concept, but not the greatest execution. The wiring I am using is 18 AWG, which the product states that it will work with, but no matter how hard I squeeze the connector, it will not stay closed which causes there not to be good contact for current to flow through. Would probably be great for 20 or 22 AWG, but 18 AWG is just too big for these connectors.

These work fine with the wire gauges specified
These work as advertised. You need pliers to squeeze them shut, and depending on the gauge it may take some strength to do so. Threading in fine wires requires care. They may be a little challenging in tight or awkward spaces.

Worked great
Worked great when I combine two LED lights together onto one switch.

Garbage
These are crap. They do not clasp with even the smallest gauge wire. It had to be taped down to secure the tap.

Stick with screw connectors
these things are near impossible to get snapped closed , even with pliers , then pop open at slightest tug . Try someting else , anything else.
