The mashed potatoes consistency is smooth and taste fine, but the garlic smell is strong.

I've tried several brands and these are the best. The instructions are very simple and they're ready very quickly. The flavor and texture are pleasing to the palate. I wish they still made the Reds without cheese or anything. These are a close substitute but do not have the taste of the reds. Could be too much butter flavor hides the natural potato taste. anyhow when I use the instant it is almost impossible for people who didn't see them made, to tell the difference between made from scratch or this just add water. This is a good product . Nice to have in the cupboard all the time.
