Previous trimmer line was OK but within 15 minutes of using was down to a couple of centimetres. I have just done an hour with the Oregon Flexiblade loaded onto a fairly heavy duty electric brushcutter doing moderate work through long grass and undergrowth and it is the same length as when I started.

I upgraded my 40cc brush cutter with an Oregon 4 line Flexiblade strimmer head so I could use this strimmer line, due to an impulse purchase of the line one evening and not going to measure my existing head to see if it would fit :o) . I am not disappointed at all with the combination though, it was a worthwhile upgrade. The line is extremely tough and 21m of it will last me a long time, but next time I do need strimmer line I will not hesitate to get more of this. I am using it domestically in a very large garden so I do strim far more than an average homeowner would but not on the scale of a professional gardener.I can tell my strimmer is having to work a lot harder with this combination and potentially the thinner variant of the line my be better for you if you are only tackling thin things such as long grass. I do have some of the thinner Flexiblade line too but I have not tried it to compare.Seeing some of the other reviews stating it does not work makes me wonder if their strimmer is not powerful enough to cope with the extra drag and is not spinning fast enough because I cannot fault this line at all.

These work very well in the appropriate head and the system is very easy to use.The only slight issue I had was that they tend to break when cutting through heavier weeds and the like. Works perfect for normal garden use, but you’d still need a brush cutter in your arsenal.

The brambles are taking over part of our garden so wanted to get something strong to "remove" them. Thought this would be ideal but discovered it was so strong, it was difficult to wind onto the reel. Finally managed it but not looking forward to repeating this process. So a good product but ........

Does the job

I've tried this line on a multitude of areas around the property tranging, from pure grass to dense bramble patches with young saplings in the mix. This is all based on a 50cc strimmer.Grass - blitzs grass like no other cord I've ever usedLight brush - Again blitz through it with no issue (mix of grass and young green bramble,but not dense)Heavy brush - lasts longer then normal cord, but here is where the cord starts to wear fasterHeavy brush with up to 1" saplings - UselessHardened wood brambles - uselessYoung gorse - uselessI'd recommend not using it on anything heavier then young brambles, it's not a replacement for a brush cutting blade.

The product looked good for the job cutting brambles and weeds, but kept breaking and bits snapping off
