ORIGINAL:This vanilla is the absolute worst. I tried this in my liege waffle recipe which takes 2 hours to rise before I can start using the batter so once it ruined the batter, it ruined that option for breakfast. The smell is off. It smells artificial, like leather tanning chemicals. The taste is not vanilla at all.I took two bites of the waffle, the first one registered the foul taste right away, the second bite was for confirmation it wasn't my pure maple syrup making the waffle taste so---disgusting. Even four hours later I can still taste the after-taste of the chemical laden flavor. I've used two fold vanilla all the time, never has it tasted or smelled like this. I've smelled advertised artificial vanilla that smelled pleasant unlike this stuff which will make your nose hair cringe. I'm afraid to dump this down the drain and contaminate the sewer.I can't imagine what anyone posting a positive review of this vanilla is smoking but apparently they're smoking it while using this trichloroethylene vanilla.I've attached an image of two vanillas I use which are superb. Unlike this product which I can being responsible for creating three headed sewer rats.UPDATED:I had the opportunity to try the Heilala Pure Vanilla with Seeds and it is like a cross between decedent and sublime. A hybrid of vanilla extract and vanilla bean paste. Slightly sweet from glycerin but all vanilla. I wish they offered it in larger sizes. I made some pancakes for dinner tonight and it was fantastic. Strong but lacking any after-taste, the vanilla aroma lingered. My opinion for the product listed stands so if you try the extracted listed here and don't like it, try their Pure Vanilla with Seeds, I can nearly guarantee you'll like it. This is why I changed my review.

To my horror I learned that Trader Joes adds sugar to their vanilla extract and I've been buying it for years . Found this on Amazon and it's the real thing and unmolested.

I kept asking myself if this double fold should smell this bad, so then I asked two other people, and they agreed...this literally stinks. And I get NO vanilla flavoring from using it...none. Maybe it's the plastic bottle, since what I buy at the grocery store comes in a glass bottle and always smells wonderful and tastes the same. Paid big bucks for my first, big, wonderful bottle of double-fold vanilla, and I can't return it either. Lesson learned. Buying my vanilla in small quantities from now on, in a GLASS BOTTLE, staying "old-school".

UPDATE: They sent me another one.. it was perfect and the lid closed correctly. I understand that these things can just happen, so their reaching out to fix it went a long way. Plus, this stuff tastes really good..I just got this.. opened it up and the lid won't go back on.. I hate to leave a negative review. It actually tastes quite nice. But for this price, the lid shouldn't have been faulty..

I bought this to use for baking and making waffles,but I found a different use. It tasted so good I concocted a variance to my usual afternoon cocktail of ginger ale and vodka....I added a small amount to my cocktail and WOW ! did the Vanilla flavor come out !! I Love it !! I can only imagine the uses for this unique flavoring....endless....try it in or on anything if you like vanilla ...this is truly a quality product . A bit on the pricey side,but very good...I will buy more..a little goes a long way..Thanks..... I do not know which one to try next. Surprise me!! :)I am open to new flavors...convince me

Smells medicinal. I'm nervous to use it, if it smells this bad how good can it taste?

Not great.I'm not sure why, but I expected a double-fold vanilla. (Maybe I read it in a review somewhere? To be fair, I don't see it in the listing.) Instead this seems to be half-fold. Aroma is nice, when I can find it. It's fleeting at best. Flavor, straight, is pleasant but oddly sweet, even though supposedly no sugar has been added.Aroma and flavor are both pretty much lost in a baked good unless a lot of product is used, and this stuff is not cheap. Perhaps it will be a good choice for frosting and other non-baked applications? I haven't tried that yet.The product is advertised as organic but no certification authority is listed. I'm not bothered by whether or not my vanilla is organic but this is yet another questionable feature of this brand.All in all, tough to recommend. There are much better choices out there.

I so enjoyed working with this company but after using this vanilla in several recipes I am sorry to say the flavor just really isn't what I hoped it would be, maybe someone else would enjoy the lite floral aroma but I have been cooking with Madagascar pure Vanilla for well over 50 years. and my friends and customers are just spoiled I guess. because they definitely noticed the difference. and didn't know why but the taste just wasn't near the same especially my candies and cheesecakes. I wish these sellers well though and would say anyone should try it. We all have different tastebuds and you might even like theirs better.

This had no flavor whatsoever it was a total disappointment. Unflinching had bought 2 bottles, what a waste of money. Never again.

Horrible after taste, the flavor and smell (like chemical smell) ruined my cake and meringue even family complained about smell on my kitchen after using it, please confirm whether my product was faulty or if that’s the normal smell/taste of this product. I don’t recommend it.

Stavo cercando un estratto di vaniglia per torte e dolci al cucchiaio, quindi lette varie recensioni decido di comprare questo, dato che tutti lo osannavano. Fatto stà, arriva il pacco e tutto entusiasto apro il pacco e apro subito l'estratto, odoro e ragazzi sono rimasto male, un adore orribiletanto da farmi pensare di restituirlo ma niente, mi son detto faccio una torta. Bene, il gusto nella torta è risultato fantastico probabilmente il migliore provato fino ad ora. Amazon come sempre Top con spedizioni. Consigliatissimo.

quick delivery well packaged. Will definitely buy the vanilla extract again. It has a lovely flavour and the constituency is quite thick without being too thick. I've used it in all the usual things, it is even nice in coffee.it should last me quite a long time as I use it in home baking. it is probably meant for professional baker that needs high quality and good price

Not bought this sort of product a lot, so not much to compare it to. Too expensive to buy regularly as I have nearly finished it! Will be trying other brands. It had a good vanilla taste, not much more I can say really. It was good. Thank you.
