Mercer Industries 205100C - 9 x 11 Garnet Paper Sheets, Grit 100C (100 pack)

I bought for the first pass sanding on products made on a lathe. Needed something to take down the high points before moving to finer grit. The backing seems durable, but the abrasive is not very well affixed to the backing. Perhaps these would be best suited for hand sanding as anything above that wears the grit down quickly.

This product was purchased for sanding a wooden screen house and also for use in my small home shop. The price was a good deal for the product that was made in Korea. At least it wasn't made in China. A project where sandpaper is consumed rapidly it is better to use an inexpensive product instead of spending a lot on a higher quality product. I will use the higher quality sandpapers product on a good wood project where I need a better sanded surface.

I read the grit didn't last as long as 3m's 40 grit, so, I hesitated buying it. But I did anyway. The grit lasts at least as long as 3m. But I have to cut it, rather can fold and tear, because it's more brittle can 3m.Hope that helps!

I bought this sandpaper to help remove stain and polyurethane from my old hardwood floors. I had used a drum sander with 36 grit paper and it worked great. Once I returned the sander I bought this Mercer Industries 36D Grit sandpaper to use on getting all the edges and hard to reach places sanded down to bare wood.It’s safe to say I’m glad it’s a pack of 50 as it doesn’t last very long. The sand paper is being used on a hand sander. Each piece last approx 5-7 minutes before having to get a new one due to significant deterioration in its sanding property. The second picture is of all the little pieces of abrasive that come off and literally go everywhere. I definitely should have stuck with 3M but since they didn’t have this particular grit paper in a large pack I opted for this. The sandpaper works, just plan on using a ridiculous amount to get the job done.

Does not clog up real quick and does a super job on wood spinning on a lathe.

This is a replacement order as the first one I got was the wrong grit. This time it is 220 grit... very dense compared to another brand of garnet paper I had previously. It will work for my needs and glad to find it in a 100 sheet package. This kind of paper has been very hard for me to find locally where I live.

The granules come off or wear off very easily, will not buy again.
