Stansport Wool Blend Camp Blankets

I grew up in an area that regularly drops below zero at nighttime, so we always had these blankets on our beds for insulation, in between the sheet and the bedspread. They're not very soft or thick, but they do an EXCELLENT job keeping you warm. I decided to get one for this extra-cold winter, and luckily it was delivered the night before the ice storm is due to hit my city! Slight chemical odor out of the bag but nothing overwhelming like other reviews described. Great quality for the price!

Good blanket, there is no strong smell to it. Used it as a liner for my sleeping bag and it kept me very warm on a below freezing night in October.

Windproof, strong, heavy and very warm blanket. They weigh about 4 pounds each and they are really dense. They are a mix of nylon and wool so they have to be cleaned carefully. They also have a funny, petrochemical smell when they are unboxed. The smell goes away spontaneously, but it is annoying. If you want to use this blanket to make something like a shirt, their are a good choice because the edges don't fray. Overall, they are just great blankets.

Purchased 4 of these for use around a fire pit on cold evenings: Out of the bag they had a MAJOR diesel-like stink. There isn't a dry cleaner nearby so we laid them out over our patio furniture for a few days (taking them in at night or during bad weather of course) expecting that we would return them. Luckily after airing them out the stink vanished! These are heavy, large good quality wooly blankets. They make a huge difference outside on a cold night.

this item was purchased for my German Shepherd. He loves to sleep outside on his dog beds, but because he’s a big baby we love to cover him up until he has to come in. The thickness could have been a little heavier, but it’s OK. It needed a few washings to become really soft. It does not seem to be shedding. The size was much larger than I thought it was going to be so for the money and the way I use it. It’s a good product. I will say that it needed to be washed before I would even put it on him. It had a very musty smell about it as any wool or old army surplus might have but it’s been through many washing. It’s been outside in the rain it dries fairly quickly if you just wanna hang it up and he’s happy with it cause it keeps him warm.

I gave this blanket to my brother as a birthday gift. Now one might say "a birthday gift?" sounds strange I know. But my brother wanted an army blanket, to cover himself, when he watches television in the evenings. It seems he had one that my dad brought home from the army. Many years ago WWII . Well it wore out and he didn't know where to get one. So I checked amazon.com. Not even thinking I would find one. But low. And behold I found what I was looking for, and my brother loves it. However , as my title suggests ," selective lady" is true. I opened it up, felt it for softness, and most important for quality, an workmanship. It was beautiful. As for softness , it is just perfect. However,even if it was " scratchy " which it's not, remember is for my brother so who cares. Hahaha! Just joking sincerely , it was so nice I almost kept it for myself, but I gave it to my brother, because I love him,and he's a good guy. ...Selective Ladt

Wool army blankets. Excellent value. I.laundered them with Woolite to soften the fabric. Simple warm blankets

Excelente producto, la textura de la tela es muy agradabl y la manta es amplia. Es un poco delgada pero permite que guardes el calor sin llegar a ser voluminosa. Al momento de abrir el paquete la manta tiene un aroma a textil tratado, con colgarla un tiempo al sol es suficiente para que el olor desaparezca. Esta es una excelente compra, compre dos para uso en casa y estoy pensando en comprar otras dos para tener en el coche como manta de emergencia.

UK purchase, Excellent! Washed with correct detergent in machine on correct setting and air dried. Soft to touch, not scratchy or itchy. Very pleased.

Good product

Definitely one of the best values for a blanket. Has a good weight to it, comfortable and warm. Bought it for camping, but ended up using it on my bed. Out of the bag, it does have a strong smell as described in several reviews (almost like ammonia, lingers in the throat), however after a few days of using it as a main blanket, the odor subsides almost completely. I have taken care not to put it in the washer, as the instructions do mention it should only be dry-cleaned.

It is warm on top of another blanket. Very scratchy. Looks and feel like it will fall apart within a year. Don't recommend this. Overall looks like scrap product that was blended together to make this blanket. Make a good dog blanket but for humans no.
