I am not a pro fisherman but I learned fishing with my Dad and I've caught plenty.As a rod and reel I this is a nice rod, it's got a good feel in the hand, it's closer to an ultra light but not quite ultra, like micro sub 6 foot pole with 1oz weight casting limitThe reason I chose it is obviously the telescoping abity and this is absolutely an amazing marvel of technology, I feel blessed to have it really. It's simple, seems like it would last if taken care of and cleaned, and putting it together and back was quick and kinda mesmerizing. It gets so small it's like a wand, a foot long stick, and the reel of course, which I kept both of their boxes. If their is a caveat, maybe the rings seem susceptible to damage if the rod sack is not kept safe or in the box.

I received it as a gift, it quickly became my go to rod. It's easy to collapse and carry. It has great feel and response for setting hooks after bites. The folding handle is great for added compact design and easy to carry. Works great for Crappie and Bass. If the bail didn't sometimes spring too early when casting id score it a 5 for price and quality. That is my only gripe. Will recommend to not be too rough when collapsing because the tip is awful thin and could snap.

I bought this with some hesitation and reasonably low expectations. This rod and reel are worth the money and more. The construction of the rod and reel are very tight. I don't know how long this rod will last or how it will wear over time but out of the box it seems to be constructed to last. It's a little unbalanced but the sensitivity is perfect for a medium action rod. I love the way it performs and is very portable. The line and lures are mediocre at best. The value is in the rod mostly and the reel carries it's weight with value.

Fun rod/reel for occassional use. This is my rod to pack for flying. Compact, holds up well and does a nice job considering the price.Yea, i have much nicer combos, but none travel like this.I have pulled in a bunch of trout and some decent sized bass. I have not had trouble with it so far.Not an everyday rod, but nice to throw in a backpack or suitcase.

2.5 stars.The tip of one rod broke after 7-10 uses. We aren't really sure how it broke, but we expected it to last longer.Also the tip piece on both were extremely hard to retract, they would get stuck extended. I figure that's how it broke, when one of the kids was trying to retract it but it was stuck.Spend more and get something better quality.

Great for taking with you on a plane. Fits in my back pack. Good real and both poles worked great.
