They were not as i expected. Wanted more padding.

These socks are a real game changer! I have some low-top boots which I couldn't use because they hurt my feet so much. I've used Goldtoe forever, but they don't protect my feet and they stretch out during the day so they pile up inside my boots. I decided to give Thorlos a try -- and they are "designed" for various endeavors, like walking, hiking, work, tennis. They fit great, stay up on my calf without cutting off circulation! The padding in the side, over the arch make my old unusable boots usable again! Yeah!

Looked along time for good acrylic/cotton socks. Just the right amount of cushion. Hug your feet like sweater, but wick away moisture. Just in time too, I was getting tired of darning my old socks.

I do a lot of walking - years ago my girlfriend bought me a couple pairs of these socks and I absolutely loved them from the beginning. Very comfortable, and very durable - I've bought pairs since; some I've had going on 10 years and are just now starting to show wear (thinning out). These are not inexpensive, but they are (at least for me) worth the price.

additionally, it doesn't creep down my ankles as so many socks do. The only negative is that I, too often, having them on around the house, will find myself, just running out to the mailbox without putting on my shoes, and therefore I wear a hole in the heel. I know that wouldn't happen if I was more responsible. HAH!

These socks are great for about a hour after that, the extra padding is so compact you actually feel like there is no padding. Very light and to lose to actually have any bulk that would make decent padding
