Seymour DuncanSH-11 Custom Custom Humbucker Pickup - Black

The media could not be loaded. I built my own EVH Frankenstien replica and since I was on a budget and after much research I opted for the the Custom Custom, and in this mans humble opinion it just nails that EVH sound! It's not really a high output pickup, you need the amp to do the work for ya on this one, so like others have said, don't expect to get Dimebag's sound with this PU it's pure sex! Silky creamy tones only a mother could love! And it cleans up very nicely when you turn the "tone" knob down a bit (you have to be an EVH fan to get that "tone" thing...) so I'm hooked on this pickup and will be getting another one for a different build I'm doing. (not an EVH this time)I won't go into the history of this pickup mainly because it's all hearsay, but let's just say that Seymour Duncan made this for this guy who revolutionized rock 'n roll guitar playing forever! So if you're looking for a pickup that gets you close to that EVH tone and you don't have the scratch to get the EVH Frankentien pickup?Yeah, get this one. You won't be disappointed!

Installed the SD Custom Custom SH-11 in the bridge position on my 2018 PRS SE Custom today and all I can say is I'm blown away as to how much difference there is in the tone vs the stock PRS pickups. Nice growl with definition. Installation was simple although the SD diagram for installing the pickup didnt match the guts of my guitar. Once I figured out where to make the connections it was just a matter of soldering. I'm a total soldering noob but managed to get the wires connected so I would say just about anyone could do this with patience. The colors on the PRS pickup wires do not match the SD colors (in my case anyway) so beware of that if applicable. If you're on the fence about replacing your stock pickup in a PRS SE, buy. You won't be disappointed!

This pickup does it all! Has the perfect balance of tone. An absolute no brainer if your looking for that classic rock sound.

This pickup sounds amazing in my EVH striped series guitar. It’s far superior to the stock Fender pickup! HOWEVER, be ready to have to file the mounting bracket down for this specific guitar as the guitar is routed for a rounded bracket. If you are comfortable with that this is your pickup!

Excellent pickup but a little on the warmer side, in my opinion. Warm mid-range. I have mine installed in an EVH Wolfgang which has has a basswood body and maple neck. Apparently, Eddie used the Custom Custom pickup in his 5150 guitar for VH's LWAN tour...so it can't be bad.

Does anyone else hate how SD prints their name on everything?

This is the first custom custom I've ever used and I usually use jb or 59. So I started with a kramer Beretta special and made it into a 5150. The custom custom is now my favorite pickup never heard this singing tone on sigle notes and gr8 sounding pinch harmonics. I run into a wampler pinnacle deluxe v1 as my distortion. Long story short the custom custom is amazing now I want more lol

Put these in a 30 BC Rich or was li!e waking the dead. I love it and it makes my old guitar fun to play again. Do your research before you buy any pickup, but mainly buy for the style of playing you enjoy. I have a style much li!e Slash and love his tone these pickups are perfect. I thought I was sold in active pickups, but these have definitely kept my mind open.
