Scrumptious!
At first I was skeptical because the limited preview showed green waffles and a pea-avocado smoothie--both of which turned my stomach a bit. But I'm so glad I went for it! After owning the book for close to a year and making 26 of the 100 recipes, I can safely say that it's my favorite cookbook. I really appreciate that many recipes call for small amounts of produce, such as a half cup of berries or a cup of cherry tomatoes, which doesn't necessitate picking my garden clean or dropping a lot of money at the farmer's market, which isn't cheap. Several of the recipes have become regulars in our house: brussels sprouts crisps with parmesan and lemon (oh my gosh, yum!!), spinach and ricotta egg muffin cups, white bean and cauliflower dip, and oatmeal-raisin cookie dough balls. My son who doesn't much care for veggies devours the brussels sprouts, kale chips, and superfood popcorn with spirulina and nutritional yeast.I've had minor issues with a few of the recipes. *The lemon-glazed blueberry muffins were on the dry side. *My son, when presented with a glass of carrot apple ginger juice, recoiled in horror at the smell (and I did too, to be honest). *The summer corn fritters, when made with 3 ears of corn, were mostly corn and very little batter; I'd reduce the amount of corn next time. *The beet-chocolate-walnut cookie recipe yields 16 cookies; I got 57. I have no idea how that happened. *The recipe for black bean cakes calls for bread crumbs, and I used panko bread crumbs. Not advisable! I could not get the mixture to adhere into a patty shape. When I tried to cook the sad bean piles I was able to form, the corn kernels and millet popped out of the skilled and flew all over the kitchen. On the plus side, the crispy bean cake crumbles were very tasty. So, use fresh bread crumbs for this recipe!Still, I still love this book, and I might just try cooking my way through the whole thing!

Highly recommended!
I love this book! Little Bites is gorgeous. It's size is perfect... not so large that it's a hassle to hold and not so small that it's fiddly and annoying, but yet small enough to compliment what it's all about. The print quality and the texture of the paper are both wonderful! The colour, the design, the graphics, the photography, the layout... it all just works and blends seamlessly. It is vibrant and stunning! The level of information is perfect. It's concise, manageable and clearly delivered and those who are just starting out on the journey to living healthier will not feel overwhelmed and bombarded. The authors have made it doable and inspiring. As for the recipes, they'll make you hungry and eager to cook. Plus, for any parents of school aged children, it's packed with fresh, easy, exciting and nourishing lunch box ideas. It is a beautiful book and I am thrilled with my purchase. In fact, I have returned to purchase multiple copies as it makes a brilliant gift. Little Bites: 100 Healthy, Kid-Friendly Snacks

Move over Carrots & Hummus! Helloooo Blueberry Lassi!
Over carrots and hummus?Despite only owning Little Bites for not even two weeks, my young sons & I have already made and fallen in love with over a half dozen recipes. Some are just so easy- like watermelon slushies and heat wave ice pops. The instant gratification of eating "raw" cookie dough balls makes my little guys grin. Other recipes help us deal with our overwhelming farm share: their simple ideas like adding kale to our pesto or roasting an eggplant for baba ganoush- are making veggies a winners in my household. Despite my son's severe nut allergy, my family has been cooking/eating from Sarah Waldman's beautiful, healthy blog for over two years, making minor substitutions as needed. If you'll excuse us, we're off to fry up 'summer corn fritters' . . .

This book is fantastic! I struggle with falling into "ruts" of cooking the same things over and over and sticking to what I know my kids will like. This little gem of a book has so many delicious and healthy options that I am able to add some diversity to our meals and please everyone at the table. My kids also love to help in the kitchen and the recipes in this book are as kid friendly as it gets, we have yet to come across one that is too difficult or labor intensive that it turns us away. Even some of the treats that we've made with the kids in mind (oatmeal cookie balls) get scooped up by any adult in the kitchen. The tidbits offering not only what the nutritional superstars are of each dish but also what benefit they have to you and your children give you an even bigger feel good reaction to seeing all of your food getting gobbled up. I recommend this book to anyone who loves delicious, healthy food! Lea

SO Many Extras!
So many things to love about this book! I especially appreciate the Family Pantry section, the "gluten free", "nut free", and "dairy free" icons, and the notes pertaining to nutritional information and baby-friendly options that are frequent recipe sidebars. Wondering what to do with the cauliflower, broccoli, or brussels sprouts (etc.) you have in the fridge? This book's index is easy to use, too!

The recipes are good but take time.
This was a gift for my daughter who works full time. Her comment was, "this book is written more for stay at home mom's." The recipes I tried were tasty and good for kids. They just take more time than many Mom's have today.

If you can keep the hubby from polishing these treats off before the kids get to them, they will love them.
This is a must-have for parents with kids. The recipes are easy, fun and the fact that they're wholesome is almost by chance. I was well into the third recipe from this book when I noticed it said vegetarian. No matter. The book is fantastic. I love the size, too. It fits perfectly in the hands of my toddler and we've made a couple of these recipes 'together' already. I am a working mom and most of these recipes I can prepare in advance and store for the right moment.
