Very comfortable and a great value for the money. The thicker sole seems to make the shoe a little "heavy duty", but that is also what makes the sole so comfortable. I would update to 5-star after I see how they hold up for a year or so. Many deck shoes I've had look great for the first few months and then loose their shape and look terrible. I hope this pair will hold up over time.March 5, 2019: These shoes continue to hold up well and are very comfortable. The laces really are too slippery and will not stay tied. I replaced mine with real leather.

I've been buying boat shoes for the past several years, and I have to say I think I might have found the perfect one.Most boat shoes I've tried have terrible grip [more than once I've slipped wearing them on wet grass while walking my dog] and are low around the ankles, so that even with ankle-cut socks the socks show too much and looks geeky. This makes them usually unsuitable to wear to work.These shoes look awesome, they grip like champs, have god padding inside, and they are just high enough so that I can still slip them on like boat shoes without having to unlace first, but the socks stick out just a little.Plus they look stylish and rugged at the same time. I wear them with brown (Bamboo) or khaki (Top Flite) low-cut ankle-length socks and putting on shoes to work is a snap. Look and feel great.Only nit is that they seem to feel a bit narrow for my size (9.5).

These shoes seem to be a hybrid of cross trainers and boat shoes. They have the support and cushioning of a cross trainer, but the look and traction of a boat shoe. They seem to have a sturdy construction. Above average insole with decent cushioning and moisture wicking properties. Uppers are nubuck so they will require a bit of break-in. I've only worn them a full day or so and I can tell they will be an all-day type shoe. The color is a bit odd, looking less like copper and more like light orange/brown.

I do not know or have ever heard of Bill Dance but he most likely has a sprained ankle or is wearing a cast on his leg(s).The shoe laces on these shoes never ever stay tied. Always bending down to re tie these laces! I am going to re-lace w/Sperry topsider moccasin leather laces that I have worn for the last 45 + years. Also the nice leather laces on the sides of these shoes are not attached to anything after the enter the eyelet toward the front... 2 of mine just popped out. I thought is was broken but no, its just stuffed back behind the eyelets. Other than that, nice deck shoes and I have 2 pair.One for work ( I am a marine engineer on large yachts) and one pair for "nice". Hope you are still dancing Bill!

I have a job that requires a lot of standing and several brisk walking episodes between two locations, five days a week. These Rugged Shark shoes have not disappointed. I mix it up and wear three distinct pair of shoes so fatigue doesn't set in... (took me years to figure this out). I have not slipped in any wet pavement with these shoes, which is a very big deal to me. I'm often carrying something large or pulling a cart loaded with merchandise. A big bonus is these shoes are good looking and tough as nails. I highly recommend them.

Really well made ! Although they look wide naturally, if you wear a wide width, order the wide. He is gonna see if they stretch out ( because he loves them) but i might have to order a second pair. I will repost after this weekend !

Very pleased - usually reluctant to buy shoes or clothes online but with free returns i gave it a try and all worked out great - the shoes are lite with a good rugged sole and are very nice looking - i will recommend to friend and will purchase Rugged Shark again.

These are extremely comfortable! Shipped very fast and no problems with delivery. Just as in pictures but even better on my feet. Workmanship is excellent and I can see why some may not like the lacing based on the material used for the laces...but simply change them out. Would buy again. If you are still deciding, go for it.

After hunting shoe shops for months looking to replace a pair of Rockports, a style which Rockport no longer produce, I decided to take the punt and purchase my Rugged Shark boat shoes online. Never heard of Rugged Shark before and purchasing from the US through Amazon for wear in Australia was quite a risk. Couldn't be happier, the Rugged Sharks are excellent quality, a perfect fit, true to their online image and cheaper than Rockports and quick delivery. One very happy and satisfied customer!
