Texturz Accessory - Impressions Pad

I watched a video about this product and could not imagine how it would make my projects any better than all the other shims, pads, etc. that I already owned. WRONG! If you do die cuts--- you must have this pad. I have a BIG KICK and a FISKARS which I love. I was amazed at the results when I used this with my metal dies. Embossing was deeper and cut out areas released out of the dies that I thought were solid areas. You have to boys the black Impressions Pad as they work in tandem. I do not know why they aren't sold as a set. Highly recommend this product. Be sure to watch videos online and read enclosed instructions to get the right sandwich for your particular machine and dies. CAUTION this is not a cutting pad.

You can certainly cut your dies without the additional "just right" pressure that the impressions pad offers, but the cuts will not have that extra beautiful dimension that using this pad will get you. This is especially true with labels, large and small. Going this additional step to emboss gives your edges an engraved professional look. I'm not sure if this pad will work with any brand machine. I've only used it with my Sizzix machines. Highly recommend!

Had to buy this separately.. I swear that this is where they get you! However, it does the job. Use this with the silicone rubber accessory to get a nice impression on your paper when embossing. It's about as thick as one of the clear cutting pads. If I am completely honest with you I don't know why logistically you couldn't just use one the clear cutting pads instead of this, but I bought it because everyone said you needed it. The material may be slightly more durable than the clear cutting pads, but I can't tell. If you couldn't fork over the $5 to buy it and all you had was the rubber mat and the clear cutting pad I think you can do without it.

For just a small investment, I can now use my thin-lits dies to emboss on cardstock or chip board. It's so great to be able to make double duty of something. I am glad I bought this and the flexible pad accessory to use with my Big Shot.

So I know this is a tool for a paper cutter, but I had no intention of using it for crafting. All I did was search for "Plastic Mat" among other things to find this was one of the few things I found available for my purpose. I needed something to set things on top of to serve as a buffer between my glossy computer case. I found sticky mats, and mouse pads, but neither of those were appropriately sized or fit my needs exactly. This did. It looks good, it's sturdy, and with some rubber feet of the bottom it doesn't slide around or scratch my glossy case. I'm very happy with it.

With this pad on my "Cuttlebug Machine" I can emboss anything. I've used some old Fiskars templates that you had to hand rub the design on and it worked fabulously running it through the machine. I've used the brass stencils and ran them through the machine with awesome results. If you have a Cuttlebug or similar machine you must get yourself an embossing pad. With this you can also cut designs on cardstock with the Cricut machine and run them through the Cuttlebug to emboss something. The possibilities are endless.

A must have product if you own a Big Shot... I even use this to cut movers and shapers dies that normally require a special magnetic base. This pad is what I use in place of the magnetic base and it works perfectly every time.
