Evergreen TK5039 Timing Chain Kit

the kit arrived complete, and worked really well. My only gripe is that the pin holding the tensioner was too small and I was unable to use it to install the chain. I had to remove the tensioner assembly, pry back the shoe, and I inserted a small allen key which was much more rigid, and easier to manipulate to get the chain and gear assembly in. Once in, it fit perfectly.

Part of the tensioner appeared to be made of cheap, brittle plastic and was broken in multiple pieces when the package arrived, making it unusable. Returned.Fortunately, Pep Boys had a kit on sale (Melling, made in USA).

Guide were very tight but installed on my 96 Dakota with 3.9 v6 sounds a lot better increased fuel mileage

The timing chain tensioner came dislodge during shipping. Difficult but not impossible to fix. Install the bracket and carefully pry into place and reinstall the pin. Other than this the chain and gear appear to be good quality. The chain slap is gone!

I bought this for my 1997 Dodge Dakota 3.9L V6 Magnum engine. It seems to be much stronger than the stock timing chain set. I installed it myself. Be mindful that timing the timing chain will be a beating to get on after you install the tensioner, but other than that after installing it, the truck sounded like a dream.

my son and I were overhauling his truck, this kit was cheaper than the stores and it worked like a charm!
