Great Speaker. Depends on your Application
I'm not sure why this PA speaker has a lot of bad reviews. I think it depends on what you are using this for. If you plan to use this outdoors for music or live speaking, I don't think would be powerful enough. For me, I purchased this to play music from my iPhone in my home office. Its a nice tight little package and the sound is impressive for my application. Bass is deep and rich. Highs are crisp and it's loud without distortion. Again, you need to consider your application. While it has 4 channels to plug in musical instruments or microphones, I actually think that would overload it. One channel would be fine in my opinion. It has a nice built-in handle on the top and I can carry to my deck or other area within my home to play music. I have the JBL boombox 2 but wanted something a bit more "professional" looking sitting in my office. Perfect for my needs in every way and bluetooth works for me all over my first floor from my iPhone. Plus, the seller is selling this at a discount as a New open box. Mine was factory sealed and was brand new so win win for $420 bucks!

A Game-Changer for DJs – Powerful, Clear, and Portable!
As a professional DJ, sound quality, portability, and reliability are non-negotiable—and the JBL PRX ONE absolutely delivers on all fronts. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by the sleek design and solid build. Setup was fast and effortless. The sound clarity is phenomenal—rich lows, crisp highs, and a well-balanced midrange. The 2000W peak power ensures I can fill any room or outdoor space with deep, clean sound without distortion. The Bluetooth connectivity is super convenient, and the 7-channel mixer gives me full control of my inputs, including mics and other instruments. It's been perfect for both DJ sets and live performances with vocalists. The onboard DSP and effects are a huge bonus! One of the best parts is how portable it is—I can easily move and set it up by myself, making it ideal for weddings, private parties, and club gigs. If you're a DJ or live performer looking for a professional-grade, all-in-one PA system, look no further. The JBL PRX ONE is worth every penny!

Terrible audio quality
I need a PA to amplify an electric drum kit and a keyboard for hobby use. I have other JBL speakers so I thought this would be of similar quality. The mixer was part of the allure. What a disappointment! The sound quality is tinny, muffled and not very loud. There's almost no bass whatsoever, and nuance in the audio is also completely lost. Not what I would expect from JBL, and my tiny Pulse speaker packs a bigger punch. Hard pass, and returned.

A must-have for live performances in small venues
I bought this item for use at small-venue gigs for monitoring, backing tracks etc. Item arrived well-packed, no issues with battery charging/battery life. Setup was straightforward (recommend CH2 for backing/line-level and save CH1 for mics requiring phantom power. Support was awesome when I encountered issues with the app (use JBL Pro Connect). after that, smooth sailing all the way! This unit has more than enough power for small venues, plenty of low-end handling, also sounds amazing when BT streaming. On the live performance side, I run Roland SPD One WAV through an ART Tube MP Studio into CH2, and add some bass to add punch to backing tracks. The on-board FX are a bonus - we normally use outboard units and will experiment with the on-board options. EQ is simple to set on-board, and even better with the JBL Pro Connect app. Great value, good price point, will definitely consider a second unit, THANKS!

Portable Gig Speaker $1300
As a working pro musician for many years. It was arduous to decide which one to buy. I had already invested in other speakers and audio equipment. I went with the JBL ION one MK2. I will generally only use the two spacers. The third or middle one appears to lean. I tested the difference in large empty hall and it will do with two columns. Of course the more people you have in front of you the worst the "audio throw is". Your decibels are affected with humanity nearby. Not sure what improvements have been made over the MK1, but this one suffices for my needs. There is lot of discussion on the negative JBL customer service and the poor battery life. I have yet to experience that since I just started using the device. PROS: Good clear sound. Menu display okay. Intuitiveness could use a revamp. More on the initial setup and negatives. The bass quality is great. The treble is passable. Portability is one of the main reasons I purchased. This unit will eliminate about 80% of my chords, including electrical AC plugs and additional Amps. I plug in one mic, one music iPad, and one guitar. The guitar not so good quality. The mic quality is above average. Mic levels are easy to edit, you can add "reverb" to your hearts content. CONS: make sure you turn up the "gain" knob on all of the channels, otherwise you won't get much sound. It is factory default at the lowest gain. Making you think I don't have any sound coming out. Yes JBL does not explain this little detail in the setup. The quick start up guide sucks. It has one page with the barest of all details. The power on button after long pressing it, takes about 15 seconds to start. The power off button after a long press take 5 seconds to turn off the unit. The display is small, and the battery level indicator is a tiny little icon. Come on. Also after charging the bottom light on the bass unit stays on. ?. No unit cover, you have to buy the cover and carrier for $167. If I bought this cover, I will still have to carry my guitar, and mic stand, and assorted smaller wires, and cables into each gig. There could be elevators, stairs, and other obstacles. So don't let this unit fall, it is made of plastic all over. The three tower attachments are flimsy. Be careful when taking them apart. Be sure to tap in place, otherwise you will only get the bass output. I might report back soon after a few gig applications are done. Oh yeah, because of the higher up/array line up of speakers, as a solo artist you can hear yourself better, and there is no need for a separate monitor. Less setup and breakdown time, and more time for mic checks, and getting paid. Have a great show everyone!

Great portable PA — firmware update fixed the app issue
I bought the JBL EON ONE Compact in November 2025 and initially had a lot of trouble getting it to connect to the older JBL Compact Connect app. It wouldn’t recognize the speaker on my iPad, and I thought the unit might be defective. The solution was to install the new JBL Pro Connect app (v2.4). As soon as I opened it, the app walked me through a firmware update for the speaker, and after that everything worked flawlessly. The Pro Connect app has far more features and is extremely responsive compared to the older app. Now the speaker connects instantly, the mixer controls are smooth, and the unit sounds fantastic. Once updated, it’s a rock-solid portable PA. If you’re struggling with the app, install JBL Pro Connect and update your firmware — it fixes everything.

Very true that you are paying a bunch for the build in Mixer/DSP. Mobile app: for Android, FAIL!
So I went with a set of these to save money over what I really wanted (a set of Bose F1's), and since on top of DJ'ing, I plan on using these possible for small church events, so nice can mix right on them. However, when using for my main use, DJ'ing with a mixer, where I just have once channel coming into each from the mixer, yeah, that is a lot of wasted features. I just got moved into my new house, and was finally able to test them both at full volume. Not lacking there for my use, can't wait to get to see how well it is outdoors. Up till now, I kept one at the house while working on it and one at apartment till I moved. I wish there was a way to allow you to set one speaker to be used for Bluetooth audio, and then set it so that it only plays left channel, and sends all of the right channel out to the other speaker. I just prefer actually using them in stero. From playing around, it just mixes L/R from bluetooth input, then the output sends that same mixed signal out to the other speaker. The idea of the app was very appealing. Very little features actually worked for me on Android. (ie, can't change main levels nor channel levels, I could get in and change EQ settings on channels). I contacted JBL support and got a fast reply. He said to check the firmware, and I did and found there was updates. I was optimistic. However, even though videos show using an app to tweak channel setting easily instead of using knobs on speaker, I was told the knobs on the speakers are really what should be used for setting everything. So much for putting on a playlist at an event, and then be able to via the app bump a song up or down away from the speakers. So I install the updated firmware... FAIL, after the update, NO feautres (even after uninstalling app and reinstalling, on a Pixel 6) work now. Completely useless. I have yet nearly a month later to hear back from my reply to support about this. Guess it was a canned reply for "default answer". I was able to "rename" the speakers, so I could name them "Left" and "Right", it would be nice if you could get that reflected in the name showing up for BlueTooth connection. Good thing I don't need to app to save a gig's setting for multiple inputs being used for the next time. I am going to try using a friends iPad for it, all the videos that is what people are using. The tech geek in me wishes the display when "idle" would show levels. You know, keep the "main volume" setting across the bottom, but then have 8 level meters to show main out, and 7 channel levels. Granted the lights on the chanels indicate levels, but other than clipping, there is no master level output indicator. I mean you have a full color display... use it :) Great volume, great range. Way over priced on the adapter to use the sticks separate from the base. DO NOT try moving them with the sticks installed. I went to do this and WHAM. hit the ceiling with it as I was moving it. Luckily no damage. Oh yeah, great long power cables on these. And if they loose power while in use, they do revert back to the state they were in when power comes back. It would be nice if they had a pocket in the carrying case for the sticks to hold the power cable as well for when taking somewhere to just use for bluetooth.

Lots of features; not designed by an end-user
I really wanted to like this speaker, and I ordered two. However, due to stock shortages, I had to settle for a different manufacturer's product. But, even though I cancelled these, I still ended up getting (and paying for) one of the two that I ordered. I decided to keep it and compare it to the other ones I had to "settle" for. In the end, I decided that overall, I like those that I had to settle for better, although in some circumstances, the added features of the PRX ONE make it better. Out of the box, it sounded really "flat" compared to the Evolve 50. But after some tweaking of settings, I got it to have more punch and sound pretty close. The bass is good but not quite as good as the Evolve. The user interface is a bit different, and takes some getting used to. I did find that I liked it, once I got used to it. There are two modes - one mode lets each channel knob control the volume of that channel, so it's like a mixer. The other mode lets you select a channel, and then use the 7 knobs to control the various parameters for that channel. Would be nice if you could pick which 7 parameters to control (and with which knobs) but you're stuck with what they designed each one to control. I did find that since the whole interface is software driven, when changing settings, the resulting change was a bit laggy. There's so much DSP going on, that your changes are not immediate. Even just changing volume had a bit of a lag, which I found disconcerting. Build quality seems good, although it's all plastic. The column fits into the base easily enough, and has about the same amount of wobble as the Evolve 50 (both have a bit, but are minimal). I'm a little leary about the way the column goes into the base though, and worry that after multiple years of use it might break. One of my biggest gripes is the physical design. Whoever designed it hasn't carried equipment in and out of venues. There's one handle on the top, which is nice enough. No side handles for lifting the speaker into a vehicle. And the rolling base cover doesn't have any side handles, either. The remote control app is a bit finicky. I feel it is still a "beta" product. It offers a lot of control of the features, and is much needed, as there are so many. I found the layout of the software a bit hard to grasp. Also, I did have some trouble with it connecting to the speakers, and it would randomly disconnect. I updated the speaker firmware first thing, but still had some issues. I hope they get these sorted out with future updates. All-in-all, the PRX ONE is not an awful speaker, but there are some design choices that could have been made to make it better. The main draw is all of the built in DSP (EQ, Anti-feedback, reverb, limiter, ducker, etc). This would be good for a small band that doesn't want an outboard mixer, or a small musical group that needs a couple of mics, a keyboard, guitar, etc. Definitely overkill for a DJ, and the bass on the Evolve 50 is tighter anyway, for a comparable product. PROS: Good selection of inputs Lots of DSP features to make it flexible Lots of options to tailor the sound how you like Color LCD makes navigating menus easier Clean look Plastic body may be more durable than wood CONS: Only one handle, on top! No side handles User interface takes getting used to User interface slow/sluggish Phone/tablet control app still buggy
