Berkley Gulp! Grub Saltwater Fishing Soft Bait

Fluke killers - if only Gulp would find a way to toughen them up a bit (or lower the price!)
More luck with the pink/white combo or yellow. Prepare to go through a ton of these things because fluke, bass, blues and anything else that decides to take a snap at it take the tail off very easily, and without pretty much the whole tail the thing is useless. However, when fished properly these things are absolute fluke killers! When the tide is really moving it's going to piss you off big time how often you come up missing the tail and have to put another one on. At roughly $7-8 for a pack (depending on where you get them and popularity of the color) on a good fishing day know that you're going through somewhere between $24-$40 worth of these things. We don't fish to save money on dinner though right! LOL. Make sure to have a verity of colors and keep changing up until you find the one the fluke want that day, often times it changes throughout the day. If you're not getting action after a couple drifts change colors because they aren't touching the color you picked, however later on that same day that could all change. Go get'um!!!

They’re pretty darn good.
These are great for west coast calico and sand bass. They’re also good for west coast rock cod fishing and reservoir striped bass. Only comment is that softness or toughness varies from color to color with same style grubs. This issue is not really an issue with me because sometimes a tougher grub behooves me, won’t tear up easily when fish are hitting wide open, and I don’t want to replace grub after catching a couple of fish. Other times when fish are hitting slowly and are finicky, a softer bait might be what’s needed to entice them to bite. Irrespective, I’d recommend these highly.

THE $2 BUCK GRUB!
Gotta luv the grubs! However, if you're fluke fishing, the crabs chew them up!The price is ridiculous- averages out to $2 bucks a grub.

For emergencies only!
I keep a bag in the back of the tackle box just in case I run into a fat tripletail that won’t take an artificial, otherwise I would never use or recommend this crap, it’s way to expensive for the little bit of extra edge it might give you. Oh, it goes bad in a year or two, quicker if you open it.Only tourists fish with this stuff regularly.

Total Trash...
let start it like this, i have used gulp from when it first hit the market and this will be my last season using this cheap junk... One hit of a fluke and its done, before it would last two or three fish. Now one hit and it done.. I am going to use fatcow and other plastic scented products instead!!

Nice bait
This is a great bait. You don't loose them every time a fish bites. Although they seam to be making them a little different than the past. The tales seem to be a little softer and break off easier.

Good for rockfishing
Seems like anything would work for rockfishing though, but I use these and they stay on. I hook some squid on with the grub, if the squid is gone they still bite sometimes. Works for lings and misc rockfish
