The Great Gonzo
I purchased this because I had become curious about Ganzoa from online reading. F&F are good. The blade was nearly perfected centered. It opened with the thumb stud quite easily. Lock is solid, BUT it is very early. I wil not trust mine to be protective unitl I take this apart and remove some material. The pocket clip is not deep carry, but not bad, leaving about 3/8" above the pocket. The pocket clip itself digs into my palm. This is not a knife that I would want to do persistent heavy duty cutting with. The blade grind looks symmetrical. It was sharp OOTB. I have no gegrets about t his purchase. On a final note, I took a look at one site that sells this. They describe D2 as rust resistant. You can call that honest, BUT, know this. D2 will rust. It needs to be treated as a carbon steel blade.. A light coating of mineral oil will do nicely.

Good value from Ganzo. **Updated**
Update: Changed rating to 3 stars due to poor machining on the blade edge. One side of the blade edge wasn't correctly profiled by the manufacturer and the knife doesn't cut well at all. First Ganzo I have that has had this problem. Had to spend quite a bit of time on the stone to reprofile... and D2 is not the easiest to do that with. Still have some work left, but it's much better after 20 minutes or so of working on it.Like:- Very good craftsmanship. Knife is well machined and symmetrical.- Fantastic value for the money.- Decent action, but not the best I have seen from Ganzos.- Love the looks of this knife.Dislike:- Action a bit stiff after cleaning and oiling. May break in over time.- Close detent is not great and a bit too delayed in the closing arc.- Terrible design for the liner lock blade release! It's not unusable, but it's difficult for me to unlock reliably.Overall: Very good knife and I'm happy with the purchase. Would I own more than 1? (Like the 729... one of my faves) No.

Amazing value knife! Better than Honey Badger!
Amazing value! I also bought the Honey Badger Straight blade and prefer the Ganzo FH71 hands down. The action is so smooth. The G10 handle has a much higher quality feel than cheaper polymers. It feels great in the hand. The blade is D2 steel for half the price of the D2 Honey Badger. There are a couple minor things I dislike: 1) The hole in the blade is useless to try and flick it open (it's too small/does not stick out enough), so you have to use the flipper. 2) I think the wood grain texture on the handle feels nice, but I would like a bit more texture to grip. I'd prefer to have a few of those grooves at the bottom up top as well where I grip the handle with my middle finger and thumb when flipping open the blade. There is some jimping on the top of the blade for your thumb, but some jimping on the top of the handle and on the liner lock, would be a nice addition as well.Overall, a fantastic value knife.

Good Knife for the money
Great knife, haven't had it very long, but it seems to be as good as some other knives I have that are 2-3 times the cost.
