Prior to purchasing the Wikomo brand with a warranty, I had purchased some other sonic pest repellants without warranties. They worked great for a while, as in three months, but eventually petered out.Since I did have some success in keeping the raccoons away and the cats at bay, the key was to find some sonic repellants that have a decent warranty. Voila-- Wikomo. They have a 6 month money-back guarantee and a 1 year free- replacement. My first purchase was back in August, 2019. Still going strong. My last purchase was this past May of 2020.The following strategies have worked for me in having confidence in purchasing this particular brand and keeping them functional and effective.1) Make sure you purchase a Wikomo with a warranty. I do believe you may see some listed without a warranty. Do not buy those. They don't last long.2) Check the repellants, at least, on a weekly basis. Walk past them to make sure they activate. If they don't activate quickly or you have to get so close to them, then charge the units overnight. It is easier to just take the whole unit inside and plug it in-- using the adapter.3) Buy enough of them and strategically place them on your property. I have 6 of them. I haven't seen any raccoons in my yard since my purchase. Sometimes, a cat may enter, but they turn back. Additionally, they don't poop in my yard anymore.4) Purchase high quality rechargeable AA batteries. AmazonBasics are really good, The ones that come with the unit are cheap and don't last as long.5) As a bonus, you can purchase a bulk container of crushed pepper chilli flakes and spread it where pests may enter or travel on your property.With all of these measures I need to do, I would more accurately rate this product as a 3.5 stars. But, until there are some that are better quality and reasonably priced, this is what I have. And for now, they keep the critters away.

This thing scares the cra(x) out of the birds which make a mess of my balcony.I love love that it's solar powered. No maintenance of any kind.It does not go off too many times when i'm testing it, so I think it paces itself.Has adjustable sound level and sensitivity.

Pwr cords is so short i can even plug it into my wall to reach the distination i have 5-6 of these in my house that came with in the past at least a 5ft long pwr cord its almost not even worth buying when i have to go out looking for a pwr cord thats disappoinintingThese alarms are excellent in keeping the cats out of areas in the house they dont belong to but Discusting you cant provide a power cord long enough ..if i cant find one i will be returning this back

There was a posse of possums going through my yard every night and taking a dump near my front gate. I bought 2 of the repellers, one pointing to the back fence and one pointing to the front gate. Guess what! No more possum poop! I will purchase one or two more to keep birds and critters out of my garden.

There is a stray cat walking around the neighborhood and it once got into our house through the garage. We thought we could scare the cat away by putting this device in the yard. Unfortunately, we saw through the window that the cat just stared at it and did not even seem to be bothered by it at all. We set the sensitivity to the highest level and at number 5 for the sound and it just does not work. Returning to seller.

caught a rat old fashioned way with the trap 2 feet away from the device, so not sure if it is really keeps them away...squirrels just dig next to it...

Does not repel any of the vermin that come onto my property cats ex specialty a cat literally walked right up to it and knocked it over and another sprayed on it. I checked to make sure that it was on the right setting and it was so I tried each of the other settings to see if it would repel the cats and they walk right by it as if it is not even there

Had a family of 3 raccoons living under my deck, set up the Repeller and no Raccoons after about 3 days.
