A Stranger-is Watching
Another page turner by this author of scary books. A little boy and his dads girlfriend kidnapper, a very scary room, a crazed killer and a young boy waiting on death row. Put them all together and you have a suspense filled story.

Riveting!
Couldn't put it down! She never disappoints. From the first page the suspension begins and builds all the way until the very end.

Stop with the age fantasy already.
I do love Mary Higgins Clark's books, BUT ..... if she would only stop putting in how someone is a certain age, but looks 20 years younger. There never seems to be an average person who has talent and is mildly attractive and .fashionably dressed (except some of the men). As for being reed thin, hmm is osteoporosis far behind?Keep on writing Mary I will read your mysteries even if the characters are fantasy.

Good as usual
Good as usual. I little too much detail in the middle. However I see that it was one of her earlier writings. Rather intricate plot with a lot of characters. Needs to be read in a short time in order to keep all the characters straight.

Terrific!
Very suspenseful and a very creepy character. So sad about the character Lally, I would have liked to have seen her make it but that would have made it a fairy tale huh but she did get some reward

RIP
MHC was a wonderful author. We will miss her. She had a special way of hiking up the danger. A lesson to all writers!

Not great
This was my first MHC and I was really looking forward to it. I honestly can't say I was very impressed. The book had a few exciting moments but didn't really grab me as I was expecting.I like to get into the characters but found that I wasn't really that interested. I neither liked nor disliked them so wasn't that bothered what happened to them. The start was promising, but I couldn't make out why, for a murderer who gets his kicks from strangling his victims and was clearly itching to do the same to our heroine, suddenly decided that a bomb would be better? To cover his tracks maybe, but why not make sure she and the little boy whose eyes had apparently haunted him, weren't dead first?I gather from the reviews that this isn't the usual MHC style so I will try another of her books and maybe she'll win me over.

Fast paced thriller
While Ronald Thompson is waiting to die on the chair for the murder of Nina Peterson, a crime he did not commit, a stranger is watching the family household. Soon, he will set in motion his plans for an audacious kidnapping, aiming to become rich in the process. Steve Peterson's world is about to get much worse, losing his wife was just the beginning. Once you get past the first few chapters the book gathers pace and sets the tone for an exciting finale.

Exciting
A brilliant book, a fast page turner and you don’t know how it will end. Couldn’t wait to get back to it after I had stopped reading!

A 'Race Against Time' thriller !
Yet another Mary Higgins Clark book that I just couldn't put down! Steve thinks that the nightmare is over when a man is sentenced to death for his wife's murder, but is an innocent man about to die? When Steve's son and girlfriend disappear it seems that someone knows his every move. The plot then becomes a fast-paced, exciting rollercoaster ride with time quickly running out. Will the innocent live to tell the tale? Read it and see, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
