Dark Crystal, the / Labyrinth (1986) / Mirrormask

Love all 3 movies! Was introduced to "The Dark Crystal " as a child probably 4 or 5 loved the Gelflings and the adventure was a little scared of it but not bad ( probably not great for sheltered children) . "Labyrinth", I thought everyone had seen this but come to find out my boyfriend who was raised sheltered (Mormon) had never seen this. It's like a musical adventure like "Wizard of OZ" but a little darker. If your not into the darker side of life then I wouldn't suggest this for you, but you never know you might love it give it a try. Last but not least "MirrorMask", one of my really good friends showed me this in my 20's I thought Jim Henson was done surprising me (but truthfully I wish he never would) this is another adventure dark and mysterious as the first two (but this one would be great for acid). I will never get bored of these and my daughter loves them. Shipping was on time have no complaints all the way around! Hope this is helpful!!!

I absolutely had to replace my older VHS and lost CD disk movies. These are classics my children grew up with and even almost 25+ years passing are such mesmerizing beautifully made stories. The quality is as good as the CGI movies they make today but back when real costumes were made to perfection. Who doesn't just love Jim Henson movies?? These movies are a delight for all ages. Popcorn and slippers, cozy up and enjoy the evening with your children or date. We had to get these movies before more modern PC movies come in to replace. I don't mind remakes and will probably invest into them as companion but YOU HAVE TO GET THE ORIGINALS in your collection before they aren't available.

These movies are definitely fantasy classics; worth a watch if you've never seen them. I was afraid the Blu ray would make the older technology they were filmed with stand out and look cheesy, but it looks great. Not sure the Blue ray enhanced the movies so much as preserved the quality. Granted, the last time I saw these films was on well-used VHS, so maybe the comparison is not a very good one, but it's all I have to go on, personally. Either way, two fantastic movies, in a combo set (which I love), and the Blue ray is nice. Definitely recommend.

Dark Crystal, Labyrinth and Mirror Mask are a nice combination. Mirror Mask is the one story I can't seem to sit and watch. It's possibly a French setting with a young girl who is in the Circus atmosphere. Dark Crystal and Labyrinth are the real gems that Jim Henson have done. The Dark Crystal is centered around the battle for which is the Dark Crystal that is the power source for the evil and good usually triumphs in the end. Excellent puppeteers and actors who undertook this endeavor. Labyrinth is a young girl coming of age who has an active imagination that takes on a new meaning. Sarah(Jennifer C) is fighting the Goblin King Jareth (David Bowie) to get her baby brother back before the 13th hour. She must solve the labyrinth and has adventures meeting new friends and finally realizes what truly matters.

I've been a fan of all these movies forever. Since the passing of David Bowie, I've been looking for a copy of Labyrinth for myself, and it's been near impossible for me to get an affordable copy of Mirrormask. Glad I came across this! This arrived in two days, and I'm already watching them with nao problem. Brand new discs. Came with Mirrormask on its own disc and Labyrinth/Dark Crystal on another, and a digital copy of Mirrormask as well. All in all, an awesome value!

The Dark Crystal and the Labarynth are two of my childhood favorites so when I saw this triple pack with a bonus movie I'd never heard of before I had to buy it. The original movies are just as I remembered them, though as an adult some parts are a little cheesy, BUT the awesome puppetry is what makes the movies so great. As for the third movie, Mirrormask, that one has me conflicted because I do like it but at the same time it's one of the strangest movies I've ever seen. I didn't look into what Mirrormask was when I got the pack but the best way to describe it is if the Labarynth and Alice in Wonderland had a baby while taking acid. It's a very different movie and I appreciate all art forms so this one goes on the "that was different" memory shelf. The creativity that went into making Mirrormask is astonishing, it kept surprising me with wow what will they think of next so eventhough it was odd it still kept my interest. Overall I highly recommend this triple movie pack!

i never watched this before, and since David Bowie passed away i was very curious to see both movies. wow! both are great stories. great puppetry. great music in Labyrinth - leave it to David Bowie to smash it out of the park. the Dark Crystal was made before the Lord Of The Rings movies, but echoes some of the emotions. Labyrinth is not to be taken at face value, as it definitely strives to teach deeper lessons. wonderful movies! also, i recommend you watch the behind-the-scenes pieces. they are great! great for the entire family. definitely recommended.

Three great films for one low price.

Two of my favourite childhood movies, happy to have them to share with my child. Even though the special effects are more technical now, still prefer these. Love the fantasy and imagination aspects of both movies.

I was disappointed to find that this was exactly as other reviewers had stated. This was not a special edition as indicated by Amazon, it was two individual blue rays shrink wrapped together. I still gave 4 stars because the price was great at $8 for both, if I had purchased them individually I would have paid $14.99 each. I love both movies and I was happy to add them to my collection even though they were not as advertised.
